Just went by Palace Billiards in Villa Park last night and the place had been gutted. What happened?

I don't know but also am curious. Their myspace page indicates that they have been under new management for the last couple of years. It was formerly owned by John Abruzzo, I think.
They advertised karaoke and live music on Fridays, etc., so it didn't seem like a place for an old-timer like me. I recommend Red Shoe Billiards at 120th and Pulaski for serious pool, and, of course, there's Chris's Billiards in the city.
That is sad. The new owners remodeled the place and they were really trying to get things going tournament wise. They took on the task of the last IPT team event. It's too bad, that was a nice place.

Wow...that is very sad to hear. I have done dozens of lessons at Palace Billiards. It will be missed!
