Another Searing for the collection

I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and picked up a really nice Searing w/2 shafts. I have played (and lost) to the previous owner of this cue and am happy to add it to the collection. It shows the signs of use but is still in great condition. I may take it up to Dennis and have him refinish it but I will wait and see. Enjoy- I know I will

The inlays are ivory outline with a green veneer (matching the points) then ivory center inlay. The shafts also have ivory ferruls.

It's basically a piece of died maple....to match the veneers in the points, then inlaid with another ivory diamond as originally stated.

Great looking cue!! I love the green accents!!

You say it looks like CNC to you. Could you happen to explain why you believe this unless you were in the shop watching it being constructed?

Dick,
Do you think Dennis purposely rounded all the corners on the inlays?

Geeezzzz Dick, you rookie, everybody knows that a pantomill automaticly sharpens the corners of pockets for you.

CNC machines use the same cutter as a pantomill. Neither are sharp when you get done cutting the pocket. It is up to the cuemaker to decide if he/she wants to hand sharpen the pocket. In this case the inlay has a curve to it and the tool radius is not offensive. Now on a slotted diamond..............

Murray, can you make me a nice hoppe, I havnt been on the board in a while but cannot get the cue you made for Justis out of my head...simplicity and perfection in one; a perfect balance!

Im not trying to hijack the thread at all...I admire tremendously Dennis' work; he is probably the best CNC inlay person around as he uses the machines in such a way that it is different than anything around (it may look similar but the method of construction is PRECISION) take a jeweler's loop to any of Searing's new cues, flawless...look at Ken's new twins and Simon's orange crush masterpiece.

Thanks. I meant to say that he should have finished cutting them to be sharp. But then again, the cue might have been ordered like that. Nothing against it. I just prefer sharp inlays. JMO
