First of all, do you have the Gold Crown 4 rails?

Second, you just turned away every billiards technician I know of with your demands, not that they bother me any, I don't work for you.

Third, being so perfect, you might consider moving your table yourself.

Forth, it sounds to me like you're more concerned with wanting to downgrade any technician that even comes close to your table, then you are about wanting to move your table.

Fifth, instead of issuing a challenge to move your table, why don't you try first requesting someone's expertise.

Sixth, "It's better to be thought an asshole, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt"!

Now that I've said what I have to say, if you still want your table moved, we can start with a few charges.

From Vegas to Tucson, AZ to Vegas it's about 400 miles one way, but I'd be coming from Vegas, so make it 800 miles.

800 miles at .50cents per mile = $400.00
Travel Time 16 hours @ $20.00 per hr = $320.00
Break down/load table = $100.00
Set up table????? That depends on you, and what it is you want done, as I don't quit understand in your post what it is you want done.

Questions:

Do you have Gold Crown 4 rails, and you want them installed on your Gold Crown 3?

Are you asking that new rail rubber be installed on your rails?

When are you wanting your table moved?

Final comment: My standards are quit a bit higher than yours when it comes to making a table play perfect, as I'm the one doing the work, and I seldom ever charge what my skills are really worth, but I think in your case...I'll make an exception!

PS. I forgot to mention the cost of hotel rooms. One night at your location, one night in Vegas, that's about another $150.00 added to your move.

You can either PM me, or call me on my cell at 702-927-5689. I'm in Washington State right now, but I'm leaving to return to Vegas today to deliver more of Diamond's tables. Let me know what you'd like to do, so I can fit you into my schedule.

Glen

PS. I can fully appreciate your desire for excellent work, but I just think you went about asking for it in the wrong way. In the future, I think you'd be better served by asking for references as to the kind of work someone does that would even respond to your request. Even I'd give you a list of references if you asked, tho I'm not sure I wouldn't take offense to the request, with as much as I've posted here on AZ billiards about how much the billiards technician's industry needs to improve, and my attempts to do just that.

I thought Point #6 was the capper too, lol.
Now I'm trying to figure out what level it to the standard of or above Pro tournament standard means.
Is there a measure of level beyond level?

LOL....great point Rick! And where did you find this gentleman (term used very loosely) Glen? If I rec'd a call from someone with "instructions" like that, I'd have to simply say thanks but please find someone else because I can't help you. JUST to save any future headaches!!!

He posted his request on the Mechanic's Listing sticky, so I copied and pasted it here on this thread, because I didn't want to cloud up that thread. I send him a PM, but to date, no response. He's probably going to end up with a hack doing the job for him anyway, but I did offer my services. I don't think I was out of line, I felt that before I would even consider doing the work, I had to set the record straight with him,....because if his standards are so high, how come "HIS" table wasn't already the most level table he's ever played on in the USA, instead of Nick Varner's dads table. It also kind of bothered me that he wanted preferential treatment when it come to leveling "HIS" table...implying that it had to be more level than anyone else's in the USA. To me, dead level is dead level...and as Dartman pointed out, there is NO more level than that.

He's got of few more days to respond to me if he wants me to do the job, or otherwise, as you all know, I'm off and running again...LOL

Glen

Thanks Glen

Thank you for saying what probably every one of us was thinking. I would not post a reply to the man simply because it would be a waste of time and why bother. Nothing is going to change the guy's attitude. But I did enjoy reading your thoughts.
