THE SILENCER

i don't like predator. i hate them. a lot of over priced poppy cock, (bullshit) we took a robot and had him hit and blah blah blah, and hey, if i wanted a shaft in 10 pieces, i would have thrown mine against a wall. i know a lot of people will disagree with me, but i don't want to hear from them, i DO want to hear from the people, who hate predator as well. once again, i feel they are very, very over priced, with not a lot to show for it! if you want a non-deflection shaft, buy a schuler super constant. good night, from new york.

nothing agianst the company but for the record i sold mine , all of them never liked them anyways, my game even went down. so i got me an edwin reyes cue w/ ER240 shaft. very consistent and very true to what you have paid for, beauty and elegance as bonus.

Thank you, at this time of night or morning, how ever you want to look at it. I needed some thing to make me laugh

Seems a little unfair to have a discussion board where you can't give an opposing opinion on something. That defeats the purpose of a forum.

I don't have a real opinion either way.

I guess he don't like them Preadtors much .The funny part is he right in all ways.I just got back another one .and hell i can't move this thing for nothing or play with it.I played a guy down here sometime back he lost and he just said the hell with it an gave me the cue ..Now he's playin with a Motty..Is it the stick or the man? I say it's the STICK.... ;)  :p :D .And that my story .

I agree with your assessment of the hit of the cue. I think it has little or no feedback. But when you watch Alex Pagulyan not miss for days and move the cueball on a string with one, it's hard for me to say that it is the cue.

I tried one out for a few days, belonged to a friend. Didn't care for the hit. It sounded funny. I thought maybe it was a bad tip so I borrowed another one and didn't like it either. Oh well, if everyone liked the same thing, the world would be boring.Sam

The issue is not really whether any cue is good or bad; its a matter of what you are used to. If you are used to using a high deflection cue, the Predator will feel strange - your results will be bad initially. If you are used to a low deflection cue, then the stiffer cues will feel bad. If you are trying to minimize the amount of variables when using side English, then Jack Koehler makes a very persuasive case for using the lowest deflection cue possible (there are limits, though - see his book on the physics of pocket billiards). To get comfortable enough with your cues deflection (so that your brain can automatically adjust aim for the speed of hit and amount of side English)takes a lot of hours. Don't be changing cues if you are not willing to put in the hours.

I saw George Breedlove pick up a stiff, non-tapered house cue (mega-deflection with any side English) and run 45 balls at straight pool left-handed on a super-tight pocket table. Next inning he used a low deflection Predator (with shaft 1 inch longer than standard) cue, and ran 43 balls left handed. When you can do that, it does not matter what kind of cue; but man, how many hours do you have to play before you feel comfortable using a broomstick?

Hate Predator

Ya ,you know I cant understand why 50% of the top male profesionals use predator products with out being paid to. I guess that they dont know what they are doing. ;)

All players have different strokes and it don't matter what the brand name is. the only thing that matters is do you like it. If you are comfortable shooting with a broom stick and can get the job done, great shooting. You'll make a lot of $$$$. Personal preference is the only thing that matters. I personally don't care for the hit. Sam

How can you "hate" a cue shaft? Seems like an awefully strong emotion, for a little chunk of wood. So don't buy it then Silencer! Life is more enjoyable if you spend less time obsessing over hate.

50%?
Mika, Efren, Busta, Earl, Johnny and Ralph don't play with 314.
I don't know if Predator is counting break cues as well.
Those who use it don't get paid but they do get deals on them.
If South West gave away cues. most pros would play with it too I would think.

As long as if it's a decent cue who wouldn't take it for free or at least a deal with em. If i was to get a break cue that's worth $$ and it hits decent...maybe not the best but there's nothing wrong with it then i'd accept it too.

I sold efrin a p2. and yes they do get a discount, not free. And yes Mika uses our break cue only.

Have never tried a playing cue but the BK is a very good break cue. Got my stepson one for Christmas. My only compaint - I emailed Predator to find out about changing the weight - they never responded. I would have appreciated a response even if they can't change it.

I saw Efren's cue up close about 2 months ago, it didn't have a predator shaft on it.

He doesn't. He's too used to backhand english.
The only P2 I saw from Efren was after he won the ESPN tournament in Orlando back in 97. We met him at LAX then and Rolando was showing the black Predator.

so low squirt cues aren't good for people who use Back-hand english (like myself, didn't realize it, until somebody posted it, and i thought about it for a minute lol). Well, that's why i couldn't run three balls with a predator...

Thanks

Jon
