Antique tip protector

That is not a tip protector...it is an old tip press used to hold a newly installed tip. Most today don't use those type of things anymore because we now have glue that dries faster than 3-4 days.:D

I know a room owner that still uses those. Murder on a shaft too!!

I have a small collecton of these, I just thought it was funny what the seller thought it was used for. I tried to leave him a note letting him know.

Isn't that a tip clamp?

Yep.. it's a tip clamp. Many non-pool players would have no idea what it is. Remember guys... when you make fun of people you ain't makin no friends for pool. Why belittle someone because they don't know some things? There's lots about lots that I don't know about. Edison is credited with saying "We don't know 1-millionith of one-percent about anything."

True dat! :groucho:

s'portplayer.... not sayin you are belittleing anyone... Others were.
