Antonio Lining

Antonio, Jose, and Effie were the three top gamblers for around 10 years in the Phillipines for almost ten years. I've told the story numerous times but I had Antonio's action for awile and being big winners we got to jawing with some locals and couldn't make a game. Antonio played the barbox ghost giving 10 games on the wire going to 20 and oh yea he also didn't have ball in hand after the break for 2k. He takes it down 20-13. Most amazing thing I ever seen. He kicked in 3 balls after the break when he was hooked and had shape. He runs out like water and breaks unbelievable.

It is a Keith Andy... Japanese maker... they produce really nice solid cues but i just think that they are slightly over-priced.

Apparently Rodney Morris has also switched to this maker... and he came to Japan last month for a promo tour or something like that...

Yeah, I know Keith Andy. He's got my SouthWest at the moment.

Rodney was shooting with his Showman while he was here in Shizuoka. Said he was using a Keith Andy break cue.

And this, ladies and gents, is why mere mortals would be wise to steer clear of the big boys!

A few years ago at the Sands Regency tournament I lost to him 8-9 in the small room, the only reason why I got so close is because I made a couple of 9-balls on the break. Great player and friendly too, one of the few left handed players from the PI.

antonio's cue

By the way, he was using a cue that is made here in Japan, I didn't ask which maker, and it had a 314 shaft on it. Oddly enough, when I handed him my JMW he said "Is this a regular shaft?" I was a bit confused by what he meant by that but then he said that he's been using a 314 shaft for about 10 years now and probably wouldn't be able to shoot well with my cue. He shot 5 shots with my JMW and only pocketed 1.

He's a great player, I can attest to that, but just seeing how poorly he hit the ball with my "regular" shaft made me dislike these laminated shafts even more. I would hate to not be able to shoot with a regular cue.

He was probably playing with a Mezz if I was to speculate.

I stand corrected on my last post.
