Any action at Hard Times?

In Bellflower there was some great action. Ronnie Alcano whupped Morro at 9Ball giving him the 7. Morro then whupped Alcano in a race to 20 at 10Ball with Ronnie giving Morro the 6.

Morro was getting the 7? His game must have really fallen off. In the late 80's early 90's, I don't think anyone in the world would have given him that spot.

Morro is getting older. One's game starts to deteriorate. At least he's smart getting weight. Some of the older guys are too embarrassed to ask. Therefore they lose-- so they won't play.

On the size tables they play on at Hard Times.... They do have bar boxes their but the action there is usually 41/2 x 9 or on that snooker table.

I saw the 9-ball set between Ronnie and Morro but missed the 10-ball set. Does anyone know if they played again? I heard Efren is supposed to be there Wed.

Not sure if they have played since that night or not but Ronnie did play
King Kong some one pocket on the same night.

Kong got 10-7 and beat Ronnie.

I still think I like Ronnie playing Morro 10 ball giving up the 6. I hate to say it but it really does not matter how good Morro plays unless he starts putting mulitple runs together.
Alcano breaks hard but lets his cue loose a little too much. He did not make much on the break playing 10 ball. He played much differnet in that set than he did in the first one.

Bernardo Chavez

dang, never heard of him, thanks

He is actually pretty fun to watch when he is in stroke. He makes tight 9footers look like Bar Boxes.
When he is struggling a bit it can appear brutal.

He is one of many SoCal players that are at the top of the "A" level or in the "AA" level that no one has heard of.

Actually ...

I ran into Chavez in Vegas years back. He was in a money game, and playing good, but that damn break cue he had was like a creature from Outer Space ... lol Something out of aluminum, the butt anyway, but part of the aluminum was bigger for part of the way, than the rest of it, like a layer, not just one tapered piece. It was the strangest looking break cue I have ever seen.

His opponent kept insisting it weighed 26 ozs, illegal by the rules, but Bernado kept insisting it only weighed 25 ozs.

What would you like to bet??? In fact, lets just bet on him playing one of 40 people heads up, or one of 50, or one of 60, I guess you get the point!!!
