Any Bad experience with any Cue maker?

Haha it won't get me out of the boat for sure but it will prepare me for the next boat ride with extra life vests and also for the other boat customers when the read this :)

No, No, No!!! I’m being Trent the Cuemaker; you’re the customer in the parody, for goodness sakes! How can you be Trent when you’re the disgruntled customer? Except for the Ginacue I made--Kevin was the customer for that cue. Trent’s apology thread is just the template I used to write the original posting with. Alright, alright, it’s not exactly the most successful humorous piece I’ve ever posted on AZ, but you can’t hit a homerun in every at-bat. I’m just baffled by how many people didn’t see through it; I thought I put enough red flags in it for everyone to know I wasn’t a real cuemaker.

I, like others, assumed you were attempting to “stir the pot” regarding customer/cuemaker relations on AZ. I, by the way, have absolutely no problem with that—if no one stirred the pot, this would be one deadly boring forum to hang out in. Take, for instance, the Cuemaker Trent apology thread—a truly successful stirring of the pot thread—a real classic. But after a dozen Customer/Cuemaker threads in which both parties are clearly identified, it’s a little late to do that with anonymous “Deals Gone Wrong” threads. That’s simply stirring an empty pot.

That’s why the cue enthusiasts hijacked the thread and turned what they saw as a thread of dubious value into a thread with positive value by talking up their good experiences with cuemakers.

We all know bad deals go down, sometimes one party is at fault and sometimes the other party is, but there are also deals which should never have been agreed to in the first place and neither party ends up satisfied and neither party is entirely to blame. Bad decisions can be made on both ends.

But without all the facts laid out with, not much of value can be decided upon by the casual outside observer (AZ’ers in this case) without adequate and balanced information being presented from both parties. And both parties pretty much have to be identified because they carry baggage and reputations into the observer’s decision making process.

So now let’s assume I believe you had this “Deal Gone Wrong” with an actual cuemaker (which I do now indeed believe). You expose every significant detail you can think of to your readers without identifying the cuemaker—what reactions do expect from your readers? Even though you may not be trying to stir the pot, it’s the easy and obvious conclusion to draw.

So here’s my question to you: Even if 20 AZ’ers related their “Deals Gone Wrong” with various anonymous cuemakers, what would you expect to get out of it, and how would you benefit from it? I don’t get it. Other than reaffirming something you already know, which is that you’re all in the same boat, how does this in any way help you from getting out of the boat?

Also, I'm not that happy with the Ginacue you made me, what would it cost to turn it into an old Balabushka?

Thanks

Kevin

You stole my spot so that is technically my cue!!

No no no, this is pool, stealing is just "a move". You turned your back so I slimmed my way in front of you and its cool, because its pool related.

Slim built me my knock-off rip-off Ginacue and it should have been yours. Good on me, tough on you for turning your back. I'm posting pics of my knock-off, calling it a "tribute" and waiting for the accolades (which I've already received for my "move" on you).

I am totally confused here. How is he, "Maker of fine lines of original Custom Cues
Including Herceks, Black Boars, Cognoscenti's, BHQ Custom Jump Cues, Schon Uniques, Blue Grass, Franklin Southwest's, Ginacues, and assundry other fine hitting and playing cues." Am I missing something?

On another note. Society is messed up, after 20 years of the automotive business I was truly pissed at customers. Customers used the "survey" that goes to the manufacture to black mail the dealer all the time. "if you don't do what I say I will give you a bad survey" People use these forums to do the same thing, then we sit here as judge and jury. Filthy. One person can get on here and ruin a person's reputation just by writing. Whatever happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty? It is hard to look at the customers point of view with an open mind anymore. People the customer isn't always right.

I would like to take a crack at your second point. This is a public forum. This is the exact reason we should have a forum. Without it how would we know when a person is screwed over by a cue maker or vice versus?

Yeah, You have been waiting the longest. Joe Van is close behind and I'm sure there are a few others. Sean B. was between you and Joe and he just got his only because he decided against inlays.

I have been waiting for 8 years for one!! I think that was the last time we had dinner anyways!

WOOWW... 8 years for waiting and still not get the cue.......So, how about my waiting list....15 years + ...i hope i'm still alive for that day.:grin-square:

I've been waiting on a new TCW for about 6 years now.

I heard that guy actually had the nerve to start a family and let it interfere with his cue making! Can you believe that? What kind of cuemaker does this? Cues are far more important than family! Lol.

Joe

Good things come to those who wait and you by far have done more favors for owners of your cues than any other cuemaker I have worked with. You know it doesn't bother me and I'd rather just head down there and drink some beers on your boat and hang out with our families.

Oh you too... lol

JV (---maybe when the Chargers win the SB.. lol

ps: Maybe time for some pulled pork sandwich and sweet tea

pss: Anyone that runs a business knows there is an occasional hiccup. I have them with what I do, some are out of my control. Its how you handle that hiccup that shows your mettle. Cuemakers that rely on cashflow (deposits) to keep working are behind the 8 ball to start. Contractors routinely go out of business when they rely on the next job to complete the current job.
