Any golfers here?

These look like a nice set. I've had my i3 O'size green dots since new. Cool thing about Ping is you can have the lie adjusted up to 2 degrees +/- so if you're better fit for a black(standard)lie you can send them back to Ping and they'll adjust cheap. You can actually get them retumbled and painted for $25 a club also.
Now that I've taken lessons and gotten my swing straightened out I've been using my sons red dots and knocking the flags down!
Ping is the most playable club on the market IMO and you can most always resell them for decent money.

Good deal a a nice set of PINGS.
I know they are older, but they hold up great since they arent forged and they have not really improved on these at all since they came out. IMHO the Eye2's and these are still the best irons PING ever put out.

Talked me into it. I use upright irons. I have to get in stroke to play a friend who is a really good golfer and my Mizuno's are a little too difficult to play with when I'm not golfing all the time.

I love my Pings (G5). Mine are 4 degrees flat. It's amazing what a properly fit set of clubs will do for your game.

Awesome buy on these and you'll love the feel. The blades will also offer more ability to work the ball than my O'size, but I've got my eye on the new i10's once I liquidate the $650 Callaway gift card I won.

4 degrees flat????? But you're not a midget like me. I've love to see your stance.

I'm around 5'6" or 5'7" (if I've been hanging for awhile) with short arm and I'm 2 degrees flat (orange dot for Ping).

I have a set of Ping I3 set in Thailand as my backup set. My main irons "were" Mizuno MX-23 (forged cavity back) with Dynamic Gold Lite shaft. But this set is going over to my uncle in Korea who's picking up the game.

I have a set of Orlimar forged blades that I love if my swing/game is in season but I may be too old and out of shape for these. And I can't remember what happened to my MP-33s.

Wow those went fast. Good deal on them, and great clubs. Sold my i3s two years ago, went to Titleist forged blades (690s). Shelved them when two kids came along, and went back to a Taylor Made cavity back like some others here. Guy who plays my Pings loves them (and beats me with them regularly now). Probably the same as pool cues!

I stopped playing about 8 years ago - same thing, time with the family. Plus my dad and I golfed together all the time and he passed away - golf just wasn't the same anymore. He used the original Ping's - which I liked.

My last set was the original Mizuno T-zoid pro which were forged. I had them set to a 2 degree upright lie and they have the True Temper stiff shafts, I think s-300. I liked the Mizuno irons a lot when I was down to a single digit handicap, but at whatever I would be these days, the pings are probably more forgiving and a good idea.

Can't wait to try them out. I wonder how much this set of Pings with the custom WRX shafts would have sold for originally?

What's with this Tate Guy

First off, he buys every cue available.

Then, he buys Jay's great table (but pooches the curtains)

Now, he's buying golf clubs.

Has this guy got a job?

It must be a pretty good paying job at that! Maybe he needs some help. lol

I started out with a set of the old Eye2s. About 7 years ago, I got a set of Mizuno E-Zs. I should have upgraded long ago, but never did. I got hooked on a set of MP-32s, but had to thin out my hobbies and golf got the axe.

That's a real nice deal on that set of irons, but those Rifle shafts are the complete NUTS. I love them in my Callaway Bertha irons....by so far the best shafts I've ever had.

I have a set of Titleists DCI Irons from about 12 years ago that I always hated. A set of Macgregor wedges that are older than dirt that I hit sideways. Big Bertha 3 and 5 wood that are so old that I think Helmstetter made them himself, I hit those on the ground, ultra-stinger. I have a Ping putter that in it's 15 years of life has sunk one putt over 15 feet.

I have a new Taylor R-7 with their stock stiff shaft, coupled with a ProV, I hit the drives better than I did "back when I could play".

I love technology.

I hate golf.

I had Rifles in a set of irons and they are very nice shafts, but I guess I'm just an old Dynamic Gold S300 guy through and through. I have the DG S300's in my Bridgestone J33 Forged CB's. They are by far the best set of irons I have ever played with.

Guys this is starting to happen. None related pool item starting to fill this forums.

The Moderator should take this out. If this is allowed, we will see more and more non related pool items posted here in the future.

Good idea to start changing the name from Azbilliard to AzSports

I have a set of beautiful T-zoid pro's for sale dirt cheap*, s-300 shafts, 2 degree upright. Need new grips. You can't have my Scotty Cameron putter or my Cleveland wedges. The T-zoids are sweet - for the lower handicappers like yourself. They are very easy for a forged iron. They play long.

I had a T-zoid ... very nice club but have to have fairly accurate swing. And yes they can be long if you get the ball near the sweet spot.

All u rifle lovers, you really need to check out new light weight dynamic gold shafts available. They are DA BOMB (hype intended).

Personally, I loved how rifle shaft looks but never did like the performance.

My best irons were my first set, cavity backed Pinseeker. I actually found a full set bag at Fort Ord range when I was a kid and did the right thing by turning them in. After certain period of time, no one came to claim the bag and they gave it to me. That was my first full set of clubs and a bag.

I used this club from jr. high to after college. Sadly, someone took the bag and over 150 CDs along with my Dinan 635Csi never to be seen again.

Look what you are doing to me

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I just got done loading a couple of auctions for MP-57s into my sniper.

Funny how golf clubs are like pool cues. To each their own with all our individual preferences. I have found that the Rifle shafts give me a little lower, more boring ball flight. Have had trouble in the past with hitting my irons too high and sometimes ballooning them into the wind.

I've played most all the irons at times....Mizuno, Ping, Titleist, Cleveland, Palmer, etc.....and for me, I've found what I've been looking for in these Callaway Big Bertha irons. Forgiving, consistent, and a "weighty" feel (can't stand low swing weight irons). Also in my bag....Callaway 460 tour driver (9*), Adams Redline RPM tour 3-wood (14.5*), Callaway X tour wedges (50,54,58), and a Scotty Cameron newport 2.5 putter.

Incidently, putted with the same Ping Zing putter for close to the last 20 years and recently made a change to the Cameron......glad I did. :D
