I'm trying to find out if anyone has information on the Texas Open 9-Ball Championships that, I believe, should be held in about a month.

I'm not inquiring about the one that was held at Eric's Billiards in Austin last week (where my friend Belinda Calhoun won the Ladies division, Woo Hoo!). I'm trying to get info on the one that is held at G Cue Billiards in Round Rock - the one that has the Vanover Cup. The gcue.com website is down and the texas9ball.com site was last updated for the tourney 2 years ago! I tried going by the club the other day around noon to see if they had any info yet, but the doors were locked even though they say they open at 11:00am. I'm assuming they are still in business! Anyone know?

The last time I was able to play in this tournament was 12 years ago when Eric's was hosting it and would love to do it again.

Call 512-310-8925 and ask. I believe they don't open until noon, contrary to what is written on the door.

Genuine 33rd Annual Texas Open.

To be held at the world famous G-cue billiards in Round Rock, TX.
September 1-4, 2006. $125 entry fee if received by August 18. Entries received after the August 18 deadline will be assessed a $25 late fee. Limited to the first 128 paid entries.
During the tournament, the place will be open 24 hours a day.

Concerning the recent Texas Open at Eric's, I was there on the first day to watch the action. This was probably the weakest field I have ever seen.:o I sure hope the one at G-cue has a more representative showing of the top players in Texas.

Well, the field might have been, weaker , as you put it, but it started the same weekend that many had to be in Vegas for the IPT.
The good news is that the number of entries doubled over last year.
THere is going to be the same problem in September.

Mystickcuefan, or Tony is going to be in that tourney best of luck to him i hope the cue i sold him will help his game a lil.
