Any players shoot with falcon?

how was the hit and feel?

Stiff hit, which I like. But, I just didn't like the feel. However, I do like the hit of a Joss and Schon. But when I put a predator shaft on, they all hit about the same.

i like a nicely tapered shaft like meuccis. how are the falcon shaft? and how much on average do you think it would cost me to get it tapered if it was too big?

I own many cues, but I like my Falcon best. Of course, any cue that you're used to is a good cue, and I've been playing with the same Falcon cue since 1994.

Turning a shaft down should not cost more than $20-30, depending on who does it.

Falcon cues are made in Canada and from what I've heard Predator has(or used to have???) their butts made in the Falcon factory. If a reputable company like Predator works with the Falcon factory, their cues must be half decent.

I had a Falcon cue with a Predator shaft about 7 years ago and although I didn't remember it as being an outstanding cue, it certainly was an OK cue to play with. It's not junk, that's for sure.

John Horsfall and Karen Corr use them and I think Nick Varner used to.

Quite correct, and Jennifer Chen shot with a Falcon, too.

im thinking about getting one...any reviews?

I play with a Falcom M5. Mine has a faux-ivory (bone ivory they call it) joint and doesn't seem as hard a hit as the steel jointed Falcons I've tried. One reason I like mine is the butt diameter (1.216" at butt ring, 1.089 mid-wrap), it's a bit narrower than my McDermott (1.299" at butt ring, 1.139 mid wrap). I have rather small hands though, and am slightly height challenged too, but I digress. The taper on the shaft is a bit stiffer than the McD, but of course nothing like the Dufferin which is similar to a telephone pole (I use it for breaking).

Falcon makes a good cue IMO. If you like the taper of a Meucci you could either have the Falcon shaft re-tapered or you could get a Meucci shaft to fit the Falcon. But if your getting a Falcon I would recommend trying the stock shaft for a while and see what you think. I have seen alot of players that like Meucci tapers until they give another cue an honest try.

I bought one and sold it two weeks later. The hit felt "weak" and the balance of the cue just didn't feel right in my hands. This was one of the more expensive models too.
