It's beautiful! Love black/brown/brownish red combinations w/no wrap.

I don't know about the differences in playability, but possibly a black buckhorn joint and butt cap like the Mataya JW posted yesterday? Very nice design, and not overdone. Love the wood combinations.

very nice!

I have a technical question, is that cue already done or did you create the image? I have had a few brain farts about a computer program that would allow someone to design a ring/cue and add coloring to see how it would look before the woods got put together other than a high end CAD program.

Black buckhorn!?!.....hmmmm:D

buffalo/bison horn

I have played with a cue that had that instead of ivory and I liked it enough that I have a cue on order with that for the joint and in the ringwork.

As to doing it, an idea on the computer could you pm me how and with what program? I am always "designing" and would like to be able to put the ideas on "paper". Ringwork is the big challenge. ( Not a builder, just a nut )

Once you go African Black, you never go back. Looks good. did you see the Carter cue down the page a couple posts?

I like it Brent!

I like it Brent.....nice color/wood combos for sure! I think hawk4863 might be able to hook you up with some Buckhorn material. Black Water Buffalo might look cool too; Jimmy Sickles had some awhile back!?

my opinion

I hope you are using the 3/8x10 pin for the joint pin, Brent, it will allow a nicer "hit" in my opinion. I like the design, and the colors go great together. Are you just making this cue, or has somebody ordered it from you? When you get it underway, shoot me some pics, I'd love to see it come together! Thanks for sharing this soon-to-be gorgeous cue! ;)

me too

While I haven't played with a cue with that joint to it, I, like you, design cues all the time. I have more ideas floating around my home, or in my head than you can honestly shake a stick at. I truly believe the reason for my having soo many cues in the past, is that I just like seeing my "creations" come to life. lol, For anyone wanting some ideas for a cue, hit me up...I'd be glad to "help" :D

IMO, it would look better with the woods reversed and the rings the oposite in the handle.

I think if you reversed it and made it a pair, they would be great when seen together!!!

I would shorten the buttcap by half or even more, maybe the same thickness as a hoppe, and use a southwest style rubber, inset so it only comes out a small amount. I don't like long, black buttcaps.
