jon spitz.... wood2wood on the forum. chi-town guy makes cues 1 at a time the right way. not to fancy but monsters. nobody knows him but head and sholders above hill. hes makin me a cue now. lookin forward to it. yall need to get hip!

Someone had mentioned Mr. Diveney already, but I think he deserves another shout. Real nice guy and goes out of his way to please the customer. I have one of Pats cues and IMO is up there in quality and playability with some of the best out there. I have another one on order with Pat now and will have it by August, a 3 sectioned wrapless ebony cue with mitered Ivory points in the forearm and razor blades in the butt inlaid with Abolone all with some new ring design Pat has been working on, Ivory joint and a G-10 pin. I'm sure the cue will be as nice or nicer than my first one from Pat. If your looking for a great cue from an up and coming cue maker that is top notch already IMO, give a Diveney cue a shot, you won't be disapointed. :D :D

I think Chuck Starkey makes one helluva nice looking cue for the $$

Also a cue maker that is going to be making a name for himself very soon in Cocoa Beach (16 yrs experience and just got one helluva CNC machine to help with intricate inlays) Eddie Wheat. He does awesome repair work and his wood is incredible. Plus he does true custom builds to your height, grip , balance point, arm length, etc....
Keep on the look out, if you can get one now it might be one of those incredible deals down the road.

i've got a varney on order i can't wait to get it, too many good cuemakers out there and not enough money to try em all

nice thread... good rep for you :-)

Greg makes beautiful cues. He has done repair work for me-- always top notch. I've seen many of his cues here in CT, and his quality is first rate. His point work is as good as I've seen.

In fact, my next stick will be a Kucharski-- working out the details right now.

Montalvo Cues

Mike Montalvo is a newer cuemaker out of Claremont, Ca that apprentices with Ariel Carmeli. He does nice work at a bargain price. Mike is a great guy too! Good Barber as well (my haircut sponsor) and he owns his own Barber Shop.

hay i have one of Montalvo's cards. i was getting my hair cut at a barbershop and i noticed all the pool players pictures on the walls. apparently the guy cutting my hair was a huge pool fan and cuemaker. he had a couple really sharp cues there but i didn't pick one up for a couple of reasons. nice cards too, still carry it in my wallet. i was impressed with his work

For unknown guys I like Chad Carter and Bob Dzuricky. Both make fine cue's at a reasonable cost. Think Madison Bob is another good unknown kinda guy.

yep

I gotta agree with "cubswin" here...I also feel Bob Dzuricky makes a fine cue at a reasonable price...But have never tried a Chad Carter, or a Madison Bob...Maybe someday, heh? lol

wow!!

Read the other day he is considering stopping any new orders, so going to be hard to get one of his cues I think.

That is good and bad at the same time...however Eric is an awesome guy...its too bad he is so far away, Id love to see his shop.

I agree with cubswin, Chad Carter and Madison Bob are two good sleeper cue makers for the price.

My Dad has a couple

Bob Zide from South Florida, learned a lot from Searing. It is a bacote & lemonwood cue that is pretty unique...pics attached.

Jason Wiegand (JLcues on azb) from Dubuque IA.
JLCustomCues.com.
This one is still being constructed but it is a quilted sapele 4 pointer with a bunch of ivory in it.
