Hi All,

I just wanted to vent a bit. I recently bought a cue and had a terrible experience (not with INDYQ) with quality and product backup. At this time I will not disclose the maker of the cue as I am going to find out tomorrow if the bulging points, wood filler, and extreme back weight can be corrected this is my 3rd time sending the cue back.:confused:

At any rate and on opposite ends of the buying/consulting spectrum I have had over an hour of discussions (long distance his dime) with the owner operator of INDYQ.com and he is a STAND up all out for your business and knowledgeable beyond belief man.

NO I am not related and I am not getting a commission on any azmember that buys from him, I am in retail sales and you only hear of the bad experiences and credit is due here. I have never spent a dollar with INDYQ but I will!

If you want an educated opinion about a moori tip, or a $5,000 cue you will get the same level of service.

Anyway I am glad to join the ranks of AZbilliards.com sorry for the long post and i will fill you in with the gory details of my bad experience tomorrow as my patience after 8 months has reached its end. Hopefully the seller will do the right thing and offer me my money back!

Hit 'em soft and sweet is the best saying I have ever heard. Damn thats my new motto. Hah, yea I bought my 2x4 Murnak case from IndyQ and there was a mistake and he did all he could to fix it. I am gonna do some buisness with them more than likely again in the future.

Roy is a great guy, and he owns indyQ. I have bought 20 or so high end cues from Roy in the last 3 years, every cue in my avatar was got from Roy. He knows his shi$ about cues. He tells it like it is, he's very straight forward, a lot of people mistake he forwardness for rudeness and it's not that way at all. Roy is a good friend and a good person to do business with. I'm glad you guys had good things to say. :D

I haven't bought anything from Roy yet, but wouldn't hesitate to do so. I always have my eye on Mike Bender cues.

I have bought a cue and a case from Roy. He will tell you like it is and as far as I know doesn't deal in any junk.

I have called him a few times since and he is always willing to talk and be helpful.

I met Roy for the first time, last year after a couple of cue purchases and in each case the transaction was flawless and the cue arrived in perfect condition. Each transaction was followed up through delivery with personal communication and a genuine interest in my purchase.

It appears that Jeff has hit the nail on the head when he mentions that Roy is extremely forward and some people may interpret that as rudeness. That is not the case. Roy is a businessman and no different from any other entrepreneur who has a passion for their business. When he lists a cue, you will be sure to know that even if the cue was used or from a collection that the cue will be in pristine condition with great resale value on the secondary market.

Also very glad to hear the positive comments about Indyq.
 
Did I miss something here? Everyone is correct in saying that Roy is a great guy. I've had the pleasure of meeting him and talking with him on several occasions. But I don't have a clue as to how IndyQ & Roy got involved in the original poster's cue nightmare. He stated that he didn't buy it from Roy and he had no problems with Roy....what did he do, just call him up to beef about a stick he bought somewhere else? Sorry if I entirely missed the point.

I had a great transaction with Roy from IndyQ he is a great guy to deal with.
Last Friday I got a Steve Klein cue that I had ordered for a friend and I also had ordered 3 old growth shafts from Steve Klein that I ordrered through Roy everything was just great...
So far so Good what is out of the ordinary is:
when I place the order I didn't know exactly how much the shafts would cost I had an estimate.. I send a downpayment to Roy on March for my order, about 2/3 of the total amount. Last week Roy send me an invoice for the balance I gave him a call for details and I was Really suprised to find out that my package was going out before I even had the chance to make the payment...
I don't know what more to say!!!!!!
My package left Tuesday, I went in the Bank Wednesday and I got My package in Greece Friday morning...
I would definetely do business with Roy again in the future.
 
i called roy last year about a bluebook of pool cues and told him i would mail him a check the following day. when i left the next day for the post office i ran a few errands around town and when i got home that evening my blue book was at my door(i had mailed the check a few hours earlier)i immediatly called roy and asked him why he went ahead and overnighted my book and he said" well i have been burnt a couple of times on items but i like to think that i'm a pretty good judge of character." that really impressed me. i have since sold roy a cue but not yet bought one, but would not hesitate to do so.
 
I bought a case from him and all went well. I may buy another case from him soon. He has always been extremely responsive and up front with me.
 
I have bought about three cues from Roy and he was excellent to work with and after I purchased the first one he told me to just send a check and he would go ahead and send the cue out the day he told me to mail him a check. He is definitely a first class person to deal with in my book.

my first southwest was from him...i blame him and remind him of his addiction causing knowledge everytime i email or talk to him.... some don't like his demeanor but he is upfront... a stand up guy.. and 50 or so cues later <not all from roy obviously>... i hate him.... LOL...
 
the reason I posted

It's refreshing to have someone who deals with 3k cues spend time with a baller on a budget like myself.

I was just giving the guy props and I have to much class to publicly blast the cue builder that got mine wrong as he has built thousands and is a good guy.

Roy Mallott @ Indyq has my absolute highest recommendation. I can't say enough good about him and the service he provides. Buy with confidence...Tom
