Anyone else with a 1 of a kind design?

That's probably it Jim - thanks for the intelligent response.

Why would you change your first post?? That's the one I choose to answer.

You said
:Jimbo, after reading other posts of yours, the attacks you've made on me seem minor.

Still you continue your lie that I attacked you? Maybe you can't comprehend what you read, have someone read it to you please as many have already pointed out, you were wrong about this claim.

Then you said: with all the claims you make to know so many cue-makers and so much about pool, why can't you just answer the question instead of always being a smart-*ss?

You just aren't worth the time or effort to try to explain things to, people have tried to give you advice and you blew them all off. Why would anyone waste their time to respond to someone like you??

Fair enough. Jim, I've gone back and searched on posts that you contributed to. I think they speak for themselves, but the synopsis: you are a pompous *ss who goes around looking for fights. I understand your need to label yourself "male rooster" - in a group of roosters you would certainly be the only one who had to remind the others that you were a 'male'.

How is that fair enough?? Sounds more like an obsession to me.

I think that's a great synopsis LOL but it doesn't change the fact that you claimed I did it to you when in fact I didn't and there was never proof of me doing it to you, yet you're still on that crying kick where you claim I attacked you. If you really want to be fair (I know you don't) go back and show me how I was so mean to you and called you names.

The male Rooster tag was placed there by me after another poster called me that, it wasn't my tag. It hurt so bad I just put it there to remind me how mean you guys can be from behind your computer screens.

Yeah, it is a bit of a Searing. Has nothing to do with this thread though. it is just a picture that really caught my eye. The bridged veneers, are awesome.

Tracy

I am glad you like it Tracy. When I get to the U.S. I will show you the cue in person.

I have one that is in pre-production mode... I will post pics of the cue and design after I get it from James White...

The Woods in the cue are Ebony Butt Sleeve... Ebony and Pink Ivory 6 point cue (3 large points Ebony, 3 small points Pink Ivory) with 2 veneers... into a Birdseye Forearm...

There are custom Ivory and Pink Ivory inlays in the Ebony Butt Sleeve and in the ringwork...

Just a Teaser... maybe after it is actually in production I will post pics of the drawing I made in Paintbrush program...
OK, I sent deposit today for this cue so if anyone copies it I can say for sure that I had it started first... I really want feedback on my design anyway... I will post pics of the cue when I get it back from Big Jim in 9 mos. to 1 year...

Tada!!!

PS: Copyright pending... lol

If you're referring to Master Bandido he's very busy right now finishing a lot of orders. I'll be sharing my design once the cue is completed. I called it the "Boiling Point" cue.

- Why do you call him "Master" Bandido?

I think when people want to see true one of a kind cues you can look at some of TW's work or Edwin Reyes's work, stuff like that takes the hand of a master to create and most hacks couldn't even begin to understand what went into it let alone copy it.

I guess you didn't read the whole post Matt. To tell you the truth, you are the only person I know who questions Mr. Reyes's work. Tell us what you know that the rest of us don't. I ask this in all sincerity. Caus you is my buddy!!!!!

The new Champions in Leesburg will be open soon . Feb. 15 I think. Hot Dang!!!!!

Got my new Lambros

I just received my new Lambros. While the design was inspired by another cue / cues I think it's pretty original. I'm still on the fence with regard to posting any pics. In fact I'm even apprehensive to describe it.

I couldn't agree more, TW is a man among boys when it comes to what we are talking about here. If the cue doesn't have a "name" then I don't feel it's the 1 of a kind thing we are talking about. Obviously some lines have a name, like Ginacue's Rasputan or Black's Athenian but these cues are mass produced and not 1 of a kinds. Before anyone freaks by mass I mean more then one as far as I know the plans for Atenian is a total of 25 or 30, still a small number (worldwide) when you think about it. But when you consider the number of 1 of a kind unique cues TW has made and how diverse they are you realize how underratted this man is.

Jimbo, I also like TW's cues. My only problem with him was when he said,
" anyone who buys one of my cues to play with is buying it for the wrong reason ". Doesn't make much sense to me. Could you elaborate on this for me?

Well, I can't speak for him nor would I ever try to explain Thomas. But I can see his point, sure cues are made to play pool, but when you think of some of his 1 of a kind cues and the prices they sell for I doubt the people who buy them would shoot with them. I think the same could be said for any high end cue ($5,000+) I mean sure you can play with them, and believe me I've hit balls with many of TW's best works (including Celtic Prince) and they do PLAY. I mean I can't say they are the best hitting cues ever, but again take into consideration his work is more art then function. Sure he could have said what many say that it's a cue and it's built for playing blah blah blah but let's all be serious, some cues are made for players and some are made for collectors, sure some cross over but when talking high end I think more often then not they are bought not for playing, don't fault the guy for being honest.
I mean I love Bill Schick but I doubt while building the W&W cue that he showed at the FL ICC show playability was first on his mind. This top end cues are works of art, sure you can play pool with them, but if you are looking for a cue to play with you will buy something else, don't you agree???

To be honest with you Jimbo, I play with the cue that feels best for me. My wife also. I have some high end cues but play with my $1,475 Kikel. My wife plays with a $5,500 cue. WHY? She likes the way it feels. Go figure!!!!! I haven't felt anything better than my Kikel, and I have hit a ton of high end cues. My buddy brings a boat load over for me to try. What do you like to play with and why? You can answer this in a PM if you would like.

I can't stand the PM's I get long winded and run out of room, 1,500 words isn't really enough, but feel free to e-mail me any time.

As far as your question goes I have played with just about every cue you can think of and I choose to play with a very old 83ish SW cue, my second choice was a Wes Hunter. I have tried to duplicate the feel/ hit of my playing SW and I have had cues made exactly to the same specs from weight to shaft taper as well as set up, it just can't be duplicated IMO. I also have bought many SW's in an attempt to have a backup cue. This is the reason I laugh at clowns like Duke who think a cuemaker's cues all hit the same. Sure they have a certain feel, but I've owned more then my share of SW cues and NONE hit the same as the cue I play with. This is a case where there is no price for the true feel of a great cue, I wouldn't sell that cue for any price because I would have to quit pool. Without hesitation I would say I play 2 balls lower when I switch from this cue, sure it could just be a comfort factor or a mind game, but it's real to me. This is also why I laugh at those same people who say that the cue they are selling is the best hitting cue they ever owned, truth be told if I had to sell this cue to pay for a life threatening operation it would be a toss up. I have also hit with some very high end cues and some play great, I'd have no problem playing with something that cost a lot, it's not an issue of price for me.

Jim

Ain't It The Truth

I agree with you 100% Jim. I feel the same way. I wouldn't sell my playing cue either. The other thing that is bothering me is all the dam CNC work. Where are all the real cuemakers today?
