I just bought some tips...
but no reddish brown coating on them, like I typically see on le pro
I 've never seen them before,
"Supposed to be old stock,
purchased in bulk for cue repairs"
thanks in advance

I don't think I've ever seen a LePro with a reddish color coating. Are you talking about a plain tip? I am not a cue maker but sure have repaired a ton of them.

Never seen anything but brown on LePros. Guess someone could be faking them, but why?

I believe that the poster is mistaking a LePro tip, which is a medium brown tip, with a Super Pro, which are red and much more harder.

My understanding is the Lepros are now made in china and the quality is not anywhere close to the old , they are softer and inconsistent , the color after sanding the back is tan instead of the blackish color . The cure of the leather is not the same . I have 8 or 10 boxes of the old ones left , not for sale ...;)

After looking at the pictures, and my own experience with lepros, and the boxes I have bought over about 20 years now, the one on the right in the pictures is definitely not a lepro, unless its from 100 years ago.
Sorry bud, I would return them
