u know the ones i mean, it has the funny shaped handle, instead of straight its a series of buldges. Saw a couple on ebay and just wondered if anyone ever shot with them, what they thought......etc

The cues are made of Dymondwood (r) - wood impregnated under vacuum with a polycarbonate resin akin to Plexiglass. The Dymondwood process is used by many woodworkers for knife handles, fishing rod seats, and other applications. Art conservators use the same resin to stop paint deterioration.
The process adds something to the cue's weight, but I'm told it's not very noticeable. Benefits include resistance to warping and dings.
The bulges provide a "firmer grip," supposedly. I think they're ugly, and unnecessary unless the cue is going to double as a sex toy.

This one is Dymondwood. I love it.

Dhakala said:Pretty. How are the bumps? And who makes it? I would think Mr. Dooley would have a bone to pick about his patent.
