u know the ones i mean, it has the funny shaped handle, instead of straight its a series of buldges. Saw a couple on ebay and just wondered if anyone ever shot with them, what they thought......etc

Never held one, just watched a fairly good shooter play with one to good effect.

The cues are made of Dymondwood (r) - wood impregnated under vacuum with a polycarbonate resin akin to Plexiglass. The Dymondwood process is used by many woodworkers for knife handles, fishing rod seats, and other applications. Art conservators use the same resin to stop paint deterioration.

The process adds something to the cue's weight, but I'm told it's not very noticeable. Benefits include resistance to warping and dings.

The bulges provide a "firmer grip," supposedly. I think they're ugly, and unnecessary unless the cue is going to double as a sex toy.

I think the poster is probably talking about the Stealth cues with the dooley handle. They are not Dymondwood, just painted maple
This one is Dymondwood. I love it.

Pretty. How are the bumps? And who makes it? I would think Mr. Dooley would have a bone to pick about his patent.

I tried one in May at Vegas....I liked the hit and my wife liked it so much she bought one...Only $130.00....
I may be wrong but I remember seeing a photo of the open team in Vegas, shooting the last match in the finals and winning the overrall open team event all players shooting with Dooley cues....I think it was 2 or maybe 3 years ago...

I think I saw Jenna Jamieson using one of these. And I might add, SHE WAS GREAT WITH IT!! Did not miss a stroke. Looks like it pockets balls with ease.

Thanks Dave the one I have was made by a company called Topper out of So cal. There is a gentleman name Bob Renis also in So cal who also makes them. The Topper owner use to work for him. It is a laminate of oak, ash, birch, and beechwood. It is both bonded and impreganated under high heat and pressure with a Phenolic resin. They are virtually indestructible. You can google Bob Renis for more info.
Someone else mentioned seeing a team in Vegas playing with them. It was probably the guys from San Diego. They won it all a few years back.
Let me reiterate this is not a Doolie cue. They come from Stealth and are made out of just regular maple with flashy paint jobs. Not at all the same thing.

I'm not sure who this Jenna Jamison is...but I did see

EDIT: everything after that was edited because I've had a glass or two!!!;)
