Several years ago while doing some research, I read a statement that Eric Crisp made in reference to "texas ebony cues seem to have that x factor". Since that statement, I have always had it in the back of my head that someday I would test his hypothesis. I am planning a new cue and now is as good a time as any to try it, but it seems hard to find.

Do any cue makers out there have any seasoned and stabilized texas ebony for a plane jane cue?

I do have some but it's not for sale. Texas ebony is almost impossible to get and very expensive.

Tx ebony does not require stabilization its hard and dense........if you are talking about sitting in a shop while it acclimates to its surroundings (seasoning) that is different.

Is there something special about those pieces Tony that you needed to tell a guy who is wanting to buy some "I have a bit, but you can't have any"?

Slugger.....it's readily available. If you really gotta have some send me a PM, and I can make a few calls. Larry

texas ebony

I was not looking to buy it. Im looking for a cuemaker who has stock because i want to get a custom cue made from it....

Thats a deal that I wouldn't pass on. Meridian doesn't make offers to sell his
wood everyday.

Buy some and send it to the maker of choice.
Meridian says it is stable.

Thanks Blue... I don't have any (mainly because I think its a rather plain looking wood)....... But if you like it, then thats all that matters... I can get you some if you want to go that route.

Striped macassar ebony hit better.
Efren won the world 9 and US 9-ball with it.
