Anyone play with glasses?

Got new glasses. Mine are not tall enough, 'cause unless I am all the way down, the top rim of the glasses seems to get in my view. I may have to get taller frames for Pool. :confused:

ANyone with suggestions? (No laser eye surgery suggestions please. With my luck my eyes would explode. And I can't wear contacts.)

I'm wearing glasses. There was another thread on here about this subject. I honestly don't seem to have that issue with mine. I wear bifocals (spelling?...I'm drinking) I'll give it some consideration tomorrow night when I go out to play and report back to you. I just don't seem to have an issue when I play.

I dont wear glasses, but know of many players that wear glasses or contacts. If you google "billiards glasses", it will give you all the info you need.

There are quite a few players who wear glasses that are specially made to be taller. You won't win fashion statement of the year but you'll be able to see everthing easier
 
I wear glasses and they are pretty small. I just have to make sure they are pushed up on my nose. So I find myself pushing them up after every shot so it is very routine for me.
 
i try my best not to wear them. but it so happens, well hell, i wear them until i get home. otherwise i keep them on a side table. in my regular arsenal i like a good beer, 2 vodka cranberry and a shot of a desent whiscki.





sorry for my poor understanding. i was playing with my balls during classes.

I've got the fashion ones my wife picked out so she doesn't have to worry, and then I have the ones I want---for billiards. Large round lenses. My problem with small lenses is the top of the rim not the bottom.

when i first got mine i used to bob my head up and down trying to get just the right focus so the rims wouldn't get in the way and i could still see.

must have looked quite strange for those that were watching.

time to get new ones and will be getting bigger ones this round.

I wore contacts for years but three years ago when I lost my job I lost my insurance also and couldn't afford them. The last thing I got through my insurance was a new pair of glasses with the narrower eye pieces and haven't had any real problems with them.
 
I bought the Zeiss Scope Z frames and had my script put in ... Very comfortable and stylish ... adjustable bridge with 5 settings, more than enough to put you in the center of the lense when you get down to shoot... they are shooting glasses with strong frame and spring hinges , quality product and fabulous for pool ... Much more desirable than High and WIde Glasses ... :cool:

I had a look at those glasses and they do look like a good product. I bought Hy wides 3 years ago, used them for a month, couldn't adapt and put them away. They are like new if anyone is interested. I can't play with glasses, I'd rather see blurry balls but I recently had 2 eye surgery's for cataracts so I'm seeing pretty good now.

I wear glasses and I think it is a huge disadvantage. I rarely see a top player that wears glasses.

I played in a big tournament one time and one of the tables I played on was in the corner where is was very hot, and my glasses kept steaming up. I made some of my shots by just guessing. The only reason I won was because the guy I was playing was a real hot-headed tough guy, who started throwing chalk. Whenever someone starts throwing chalk is when I know I'm going to win if I just play my game. This one was tough because of the heat. I had to give up a "condensation" handicap
 
100000% impossible, I tried back in the 80's with big stupid looking glasses and the pool table looked like it was warped-the far corner pockets looked like they were 6" taller than the near ones, hard to explaine but I couldnt tell where to aim, nowdays with smaller glasses, I cant see the far corner pockets because they are outside of the lenses and so blurry I couldnt see a ball next to the pocket, my vision is 20-600 uncorrected that means the top letter on the eye chart the "E" I cant read it, corrected I'm 20-15 so contacts are the only reaon I can play.they dont bother me a bit
