well, tomorrow morning at 9 the team i captain starts city playoffs, it will be a first time experience for all of us. 30 teams, about half of which I have never seen play. not sure what to expect but I plan on having fun and to hell with the consequences. Hopefully I will have a great post for you guys on Sunday night.

Knock 'em dead... and PLEASE let us know how things go and your opinions. I will be participating in my first 'cities' next weekend and would like your perspective to compare to.

You can expect to experience what everyone complains about; the sandbaggers. They all seem to show up during the playoffs. Some may get bumped but don't count on it. The excuse will be that they just played at a higher level because of the playoffs and got lucky.

Good Luck

Yup. Been about ten times more or less. Had a great time every time, but the above is true in any established hanicapped league. They are out there and the cities bring em to light.

I once played a three in 8ball who let me shoot just once (safety) in two games. Been years ago and I havn't forgotten it yet. A world class three. Whatthehellever.

The key to city play is defense defense and more defense imho.

well, here we are on sunday afternoo and i have no good news to report. my team got smoked and it wasnt very pretty. my 7 who i was counting on played more like a 4 than a 7, my 3 who is very inconsistent played great, i am a 4 and played a 7 in the first round to hill-hill and lost so you get the idea of how we were playing. i will say that i did NOT see any of the sandbagging that so many people here are fond of claiming.

i saw opposing captains playing their team to the best that they could play, i saw 6's and 7"s playing as they should, i did see one 4 that was suspicious the first game but then he showed why he is a four. all in all what i learned is that i need to choose my team better! i need people that want to win no matter the circumstance, dont worry about who they are playing and ONLY concentrate on getting to their number of games. i dont know who won the final games but good luck to them in Vegas and watch out cause now i know better what i need to do to win.

We had our LTC's two weeks ago. I was fortunate enought to have two teams qualified and althought neither team ended up winning both teams did well; one team made it to the semi finals and the second team made it to the quarters.

I realized after the first team lost that I had made some strategic errors in calling matches in the quarters, but I was happy overall. The team that made the semi finales just lost concentration on a few key balls and we ended up having to play the final match in sudden death; our SL3 against the opposing teams SL6. It was close, with our SL3 having a good chance of getting out with 2 balls left to the eight ball.
