I'm not one to post or start a apa/cpa bashing thread but i get sick and tired reading all the post on here about it. First things first if you dont like the apa/cpa then DONT PLAY go to another league and you will see that they are all the same with the same shit going on . Number 2. If you really want to go to Vegas that bad then stop playing in leagues. Just look at how much money you could save (league fees, food&drinks, travel cost that you could go to Vegas 4 times before you win one trip... When you play in leagues the whole reason we play is to have fun and be with our friends the trip is just a bonus........

I agree with you 100 %.

The problem now is, that by starting this thread, you have just opened up another opportunity for the APA/CPA haters to jump right in.

I will sit back and wait for the deluge of neagive comments. Here's hoping I am wrong.

...then DONT PLAY go to another league and you will see that they are all the same with the same shit going on.

I don't play in the APA anymore. I did quit and go to another league. Actually, I started my own BCA league. The BCA and the VNEA are not the same as the APA. The handicapping system is totally different and does not promote sandbagging. So, the same shit, as you put it, is not going on.

As far as going to Vegas, it isn't just about going to Vegas. It is about competing at a national level. The only way to do that in the APA is by earning your way there.

I have won many trips to Vegas via the VNEA and BCA. If things are as they used to be and you are a BCA member, you can always compete in the international singles event just by paying your way.

I don't engage in APA bashing although I do not like the league system. It is what it is and that is a amateur pool league with a powerful marketing system. The APA is not going away and the complains won't either because it is engrained into their system.

If you enjoy the APA, more power to you. I prefer not to participate.

Your exactlly rite all leagues are the same!
And I hope this thread wasn't brought on by
my thread APA Profit. Because if you can find one
line in there where I bashed the APA let me know
and I'll remove it.

You are guilty of the very "crime" that you so admonish. You state you are sick and tired of reading about APA/CPA bashing. So what do you do? You start a thread that, by its very nature, is hard-wired to start more APA/CPA bashing. It is a topic that's been discussed ad nauseum on these boards. History proves that even "I'm sick of the APA bashing" complaints lead to more bashing -- and if you've been on these boards any length of time, you'd know that.

Like Steve J. (pooltchr) says, you better be prepared for what you just started.

IMO, people are expressing displeasure because they WANT leagues...just not gimicky leagues with questionable financials. They want the APA to improve, not die on the vine...which would take away an opportunity to participate.

I think the people who bash APA still play in it (I am guilty:grin:). Also, since this is a internet forum this is the place to voice frustrations/opinions you might have with APA (or anything pool related). That is almost exactly what a forum should be used for. Is your intent to police what people write about? Why do you even care?

The right league operator makes the whole league.

The previous league op here was a fire breathing nazi *****. The new guy now doesn't put up with sandbagging or whiners. Works great. I enjoy my night out playing CPA.

His post was about frustrations with APA bashing, not about frustrations with the APA itself (that which you yourself [humbly] admit you're guilty of).

And no, I'm not about forum policing at all. It was more about reminding someone that the very thing they voice frustration over, actually *causes* more of the same. In this case, frustrations with threads that contain APA-bashing, actually causes more of the same by merely bringing it up -- especially when that supposed frustration thread is loaded with APA marketing in and of itself. I merely held up a mirror and asked them to look into it.
