The Exhibit Hall at the National Archives Building in Washington, DC, is open every day except Thanksgiving Day and December 25.
Above is quoted from the website you gave. Isn't it funny that they can say Thanksgiving Day but refer to Christmas Day as December 25. Our government makes me sick.
I can tell you through experience that the APA let's LO's schedule league play on ANY holiday....except one (at least in my area....and I can't even remember which holiday it was).
When I was the captain of 3 separate teams...I used to hate to have to get with the captains of other teams to try and agree on what date we could make-up our match on...it was like pullin' teeth!!!!

Same here last season. I had to talk with the other team captain about re-scheduling. Other teams tried to play one player a week until Thanksgiving match was finished.
Shit we played on christmas and suoer bowl sunday...

It isn't the APA that "doesn't care" in this instance...it's the individual LO. Place the blame in the right place.
Our LO doesn't expect his teams to play on Holidays. As we play on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the only ones that affect us are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years (off the top of my head). When one of those falls on one of our match days, we don't have a match scheduled for that particular week. No make ups necessary. He also doesn't schedule any playoff/Best of the Best/Tri-Cup/Grand Prix or any other event on Super Bowl Sunday.
It all depends on how your LO does things, not the APA.
Until the membership stops complaining and starts not playing on these days they will keep doing it! When I was captain I just postponed the match when they did this...it's all about the money. Now I don't have this problem because I no longer play apa after 10 years. BCA much better and TAP is the future as more and more leave apa and it's faulted rules and scoring system. I think apa has realize that the really good player will leave and all the bangers and drinkers will stay the way they score a match now.
I'm amazed that those league people would tempt the wrath of god to go play pool on a sacred day. Guy's slacking with all the smiting.

Atheist here, I slept in, then spent the day with a few friends shooting on my table. Except for the Cadbury Eggs my girl gave me the night before..(mmm cream eggs), just another day.

I think pool players worship different gods. :wink:
You can always try to reschedule. And the reason they do not play on Superbowl Sunday is due to the large amount of drunks that you would have to fight with to play a have civilized match that night. The friends I play with are like family to me so I see it as a win there by spending time with them.
