Apa payback

The only leagues I've ever got any money from are a couple of in house leagues and it was chump change.

Both the APA and BCA in my opinion amount to me paying money to shoot pool with other people. The only reason for me to join a league is for fun and entertainment.

We only got $400 per person for 8 ball nationals. Not enough to cover air and hotel, but better then nothing I guess. I think my area sent 3 8 ball teams and 3 9 ball teams (might have only been 2 9 ball teams). The money isn't a lump sum per team though, if a player doesn't attend the LO keeps the cash instead of letting the other team members use it to help cover their costs.

I'm not complaining, it is what it is. Would be nice to be in an area like the OP where you get the trip paid for plus a little extra spending $$$

Sounds like Lousiana has a great APA league.

We played our Vegas regional back in early June. My Team won our regional bracket and are heading to Vegas!!

The way my APA is set up: each team member gets $700.00 towards the trip. We have to show trip confirmation (i.e. plane tickets, hotel) and then the L.O. gives us the money. If a member does not go they get $250.00.

I think they are sending 3 8-ball teams and 2 9-ball teams. Also, a scotch doubles mixed team.

After the hotel and plane expenses that $700.00 and some of my own money is gone, and I am not even able to book through to the end of the tournament. Obviously the trip will cost me $$$, food, drink, transportation, miscellaneous, and maybe gambling:grin:
In the past the L.O. booked the whole trip for the team: airfare and hotel at the Riviera, but as the league grew I think that became a logistic nightmare for them. They also got F...d by a few ungratefuls so they stopped. :( Oh well.

Anyway, I hope to have fun. First time in the 8-ball team competition.

My team and I have had a strong run to get there and have overcome some serious obstacles. Last August our team Captain died in a horrific car accident. We renamed the team in remembrance of him. The journey to get here has helped us all heal. The team has truly come together from the lower skill levels to the highest.

Well, we have several leagues scattered out across the state and I"m not sure how well those are ran.

The state has produced some high caliber talent as well, 3 national singles champs in the past couple years, national scotch doubles champs, and several top finishers in the team championship.

Stay away from the APA

In my humble opinion :The apa is a national crooked, mean, hustlin org. Thats not bashing thats an experienced fact. I will never quit speaking out against the APA as long as someone speaks up for them. You guys can shine that apple on top but the remainder is rotten and the inside has worms.

APA paypall

Just being an APA member is payback enough.

But seriously you need both sets of numbers to know if payouts are anywhere near monies taken in.Some BCA league ops charge the bar owners to host teams.I don't know if the APA does this or if all the takein is from player fees.IMO most APA members just look at the 8 bucks or whatever they pay per match they play and consider it a bargain for entertainment.I am not a big fan of the APA but it works for bar owners and for many players.
