The Apa singles national championships finishes the night of May 3rd
The Riviera has announced it is closing for good at noon on May 4th
Seems a little too close for comfort.

If you see guys with drills and red oblong sticks with wires coming in, it's time to get out.

I don't see a problem with it as long as you don't have reservations for may 4th or may 5th. Lol.

Some players from out of town like to stay a couple of days extra for a vacation.
Now they will have to relocate.

Also I'm sure shops and restaurants might be closing or already closed before then.

I know some people that were staying a few days after. If you call them they will set you up with a room somewhere else. I know the group I know was asked if they wanted to cancel and they said they still need a room somewhere and they moved them to Circus Circus.

I'd think twice about eating there that whole week.

Very good point Fran. Everyone will be eating leftovers or worse. I don't think much of the APA for not moving this event as soon as they heard it was closing RIGHT after last day of tournament. I hope they don't believe thing will go well. Most likely cut staff and employees that "don't give a $hit". Is it up to the players to book there own rooms? I guess it would be. Johnnyt

Did someone on here say that they were reorganizing and opening under another entity?

There ONLY pool players. I'm sure they could care less how it works out. Johnnyt

I know the group I know in the area called out there and had not received a call from them... I wonder what they will do for people that actually booked on the 5th when the doors are supposed to be closed or if anyone will even be there to help them and what will happen with the money deposited.

No the players don't book their rooms. I know That myself and our other Regional
Winners didn't. It's all taken care of by our Reps.
