APA "Splitting Points"

What the hell are you talking about? You clearly do not know the system, have a problem with handicaps in general or are butt hurt about some match you lost. Maybe even a combination of all 3.

I don't know of a single handicapped system that you don't have people trying to manipulate it to their advantage. Nor do I know of one that is 100% accurate 100% of the time.

As I have pointed out before I have shot people in league or tournaments at my rating from multiple areas/states rated in APA and they seemed pretty consistent with what I would of expected, except in 1 case.

Skippy, don't. Believe me when I tell you that it's not worth the headache that you're about to get. Haters gonna hate, there's nothing to do about it, it's just a fact.
To be fair I must say that have played people at different events and if that one match we played was representative of their actual S/L, if they were to play in my local area they grossly mis-rated, either over or under. But I don't think you can accurately assess someones correct S/L by watching one match. There are so many factors that come into play, the pressure of playing in a national event or even just being at a national event, any money on the outcome, the uncertainty of playing an unknown opponent, etc... Some people don't respond well to such things. By the same coin some people can elevate their game quite a bit in response to such factors. Then there's the general environment, being away from familiar surroundings and such and lets' not forget just having a good or bad day at the table.
Sure there are those that game the system, they exist in all leagues, in all pool halls whether in a league or not, but overall it's been my experience that it's all the other factors that the haters are going to b1tch about and not let go of, they'd hate to have to admit that they were beat by an APA player playing honestly, you know.

This would be a gray area and one that I believe would not be a foul. If that was not the case, then players would "coach" their opponent to get the ball back in a game losing situation.

Who defines when they have taken the coach? What if I tell them the obvious and easiest thing to do, does that mean they have to go a different route or they have fouled for taking illegal aide? See where this is headed? Coaching the opponent is like shooting the ball into your own goal or speaking too loud at the trivia table.

This is one of these things that during regularly weekly play we just let go. Technically, yes it is a foul, but if you see fit to call such a foul in this situation then you probably want to win to badly.
Ever seen the beginning opposing player just standing there looking for help while the rest of the team is at the bar or playing a game on a table "over there" or on the phone and the person they have left to keep score is another beginning player without clue? If have no sympathy for these people in this situation then you're not human, they need help, this is the APA for Gods sake, just reach out and give them a hand. If after you've given advice you have the balls to call a foul then you are truly not human. C'mon man, it's a game. What a lot of people don't see or understand anyway is that whenever you might coach someone / anyone, they still have to be able execute the plan. Most beginning players will give it their best effort but executing beyond that first shot doesn't usually happen.

In order to be deemed not to have received the illegal aid, you have to cover your ears with your hands and start making random humming or singing noises. :D

In all seriousness, that's covered by the paragraph at the bottom of page 5. The first time it happens, I get a call and it stops.
