APA sudden death

An easy way to avoid sudden death is this:

If your shooter does not look like they are going win, tell them to concede the match.

I have seen this done before and have had a teammate do this as well.
Sometimes I think its a wise move but other times I don't know.

When we did it my guy needed three games in about 5 minutes and the other guy was on the hill. We can not just quit and conceed. So he fired the eight ball in early. I played next against a SL 3 as a SL7. I didnt want one game to decide it. I feel very comforatble playing the longer race with the chance for something freaky to happen and still not lose.

This weekend we had our regionals and a team did this but I thought it was a bad move. They were ahead 2-1 and it was hill-hill in that match.
They took the loss and started the final matchup. I didnt see the need for that. Last one was a Sl6 vs a SL7.

in our cities tournament a few weekends ago we had a lot of drama going on. The guy my sl6 was playing was a sl6 also and it was the 4th match, us being up 2-1 and my guy had to win 4 games and the other guy had to win 2 games. He started to play really really slowly, playing a safe on every shot, even when he had ball in hand, he would play another safe shot. 20 safes in one game. The whole reason for this was because there 5th player was playing on the table next to ours and if my guy would have lost real fast then they would have had to forfeit the last match. So he played like this the whole time and I was getting pissed. I told my player to hit the 8ball in twice so they would have to forfeit the last match.

After my guy hit the first 8ball in on purpose, the League operator stopped play on both tables and called us in the office and ripped everyone a new one!! then after that we started play again and they kept doing the same thing and the league operator (whoever was running the whole thing) said he couldn't do anything about it. Then the guy on the next table won and then this guy here won and I had to play there 5th player sudden death and luckily I won.

That team was all sandbaggers and what sucks is that they got the third spot so they are going to vegas as well.

Dude, that sucks! Our LTC packet that we got specifically stated that excessively slow play would not be tolerated and was grounds for disqualification or concession of the current match. What BS!
