APA Vegas is a joke

Bugz,

The one common thread among all the National events held at The Riviera is "The Riv sucks". Whether it's the APA, BCAPL or ACS, the number one complaint is the location itself!

The ACS moved to The Tropicana a couple of seasons ago. Great venue. Somewhat difficult access to the playing area. No one I've heard from has complained about the accommodations. Smaller turnout but a great event none the less.

The BCAPL and USAPL are leaving the Riv for the Rio next year. Doubt very highly if there will be any complaints about the quality of lodging, gaming or service side of the equation. The prices for lodging, food and beverage may be a problem but lets wait and see. CSI seems to be full of surprises lately.

That leaves the APA. Unless the courts (or new owners) shut it down, my guess is the APA will be the at The Riv till it physically falls over. For all we know, the APA may be a silent partner :D!

From time to time I attend the Consumer Electronics Show in January while vacationing in Vegas. This past year I flew home with a group of attendees who had made the mistake of staying at The Riv. Nearly the entire flight to Buffalo was filled with sad stories of the lack of service. Not just in one area but the entire staff from front desk to the dealers. You are not alone.

The tables have been worse in the past. It took me some time to adjust just but I got there. The guys from my area also seemed to adjust after a little bit, and we all come from Diamond tables during league play.

I think some people's expectations were too high, and I know how that goes because I was the same way in 2009 for my first trip. Then tends to make the equipment seem even worse then what it really is. Alot of tables had new cloth, new balls, and a new cueball.

Now, if someone wants to start a thread about teh Riveria being trash and boycotting that shit hole. I'm all for that. I pray that this was the last year that tournament is ever held there.

Roof dripping water into the mini room, 2 Bartenders tending bar at night, 1 cocktail waitress, not enough dealers to open all of the gaming tables, over booking the hotel, Riv employees with attitude problems. It was a circus this year, I guess they forgot there would be over 5,000 people there and not all of them would be palying pool at the same time. I know one thing, I won't spend another night in that dump.

Im glad im not the only one who has brought this up in this thread. That place is an absolute Sh@t Hole. I will never ever stay there whether Im there for the APA tournament or otherwise. If they keep holding it at the Riv Ill keep staying across the street at the LVH. That place was great, from the staff to the food and everything in between.
