Bugz,
The one common thread among all the National events held at The Riviera is "The Riv sucks". Whether it's the APA, BCAPL or ACS, the number one complaint is the location itself!
The ACS moved to The Tropicana a couple of seasons ago. Great venue. Somewhat difficult access to the playing area. No one I've heard from has complained about the accommodations. Smaller turnout but a great event none the less.
The BCAPL and USAPL are leaving the Riv for the Rio next year. Doubt very highly if there will be any complaints about the quality of lodging, gaming or service side of the equation. The prices for lodging, food and beverage may be a problem but lets wait and see. CSI seems to be full of surprises lately.
That leaves the APA. Unless the courts (or new owners) shut it down, my guess is the APA will be the at The Riv till it physically falls over. For all we know, the APA may be a silent partner
!
From time to time I attend the Consumer Electronics Show in January while vacationing in Vegas. This past year I flew home with a group of attendees who had made the mistake of staying at The Riv. Nearly the entire flight to Buffalo was filled with sad stories of the lack of service. Not just in one area but the entire staff from front desk to the dealers. You are not alone.
