APA Warning!!!!!

How many bar owners pay the $35 for each team to play. We pay $35 when they are HOME and $35 when they are AWAY for every team we have. Any other states do this.

I thought that was pretty clear in my full response. Customer loyality is one of the most valuable assets any business can have. If the room owner pays the weekly dues for his teams, I suspect they return the favor by spending time and money in his room.

Do you mean your whole state does this?

Would you go $40 a team? Some LO get $8 per player.
Do you also buy a team drink for both teams as most bars do?

I haven't seen a bar here in Charlotte that buys a team drink... Maybe there are, I just haven't seen them...

No, but most of them give free table time throughout the week to league players.
The smart room owners know that league players bring them a lot of business.

Yes, If the team drinks. Some Do and Some Don't. I still pay when they are away. Any other places pay for their teams to play. I think paying Home is fine, Away is another story.

I don't know of any rooms around here that even pay when the teams are home. As I said, some offer free table time to their league players during the week, some will offer drinks, some host a buffet dinner at the end of the session for their teams. I think each room owner decides what, if anything, they will do for the teams.

I am one of those who doesn't drink. I have a coke or two on league night, but I also will show up early and eat dinner at the room. I believe in trying to support the businesses that are good to me. I split my time between two rooms in town, and I appreciate what both rooms offer.

LOL This is the funniest post so far today. Anyway for those of you who are bashing the APA you have no clue what you are talking about. Just like a few have said earlier it is not APA's fault its your league operator which is a piece of s**t. I play APA and have never had a problem or seen a problem out of good operated areas. Change your area if you have that option. Im sorry that your operator is the one that sucks cause it does suck for you and makes APA look bad.

You may have made a great point. We are so fortunate here in Charlotte to have one of the best LOs in the country. KT Thompson really supports the players. The league is run professionally, paperwork is distributed in a timely manner each week. 3 times a year at opr city tournament, she rents a building for a week or so, and brings in close to 100 Diamond smart tables, and her staff is out there working hard to make sure everything goes smoothly. Our Charlotte Metro APA sponsors Kelly Fisher on the WPBA tour, and when the WPBA was here last year for a tournament, it was the APA staff and members who worked to assist with all the little jobs (manning the shot clock for each match, etc).

Talk to most any APA player in the area, and you will hear nothing but good about our league. (Well, there's always some BI***ing about a few sandbaggers, but that isn't even a huge issue. I've seen them get bumped up at the city tournament quite a few times.

It ain't all as bad as some may think!

Don't forget about the complaining about getting bumped up in handicap after a loss and that a 4-4 race between a weak 5 and a strong 5 is an unfair race, or even worse, a 5-4 race between a strong 6 and a weak 5.
