Apologies to Danny Harriman

Look, guys, I'm not backing down from anything but I would like to explain myself a little here.

For the past month and a half I've been nursing an injury on my leg. 2 weeks ago I went to the hospital because my leg was infected and swollen. They gave me medicine to take and I had an allergic reaction to it and I am currently covered in welts that itch down to my soul. I was literally awake all night last night itching and scratching and I just couldn't sleep. I fell asleep on the sofa this morning around 9:00 and when the mailman came he woke me up.

I opened the package, saw everything with my clouded sleep brain and fired off that post about the packaging. Had I been awake and thinking clearly I still would have posted something but I probably wouldn't have been so strong about it.

I'm not making any excuses though, just painting a picture so you know where my mind was at the time.

Now, the reason this bothered me so much is because I look at myself. Had this been my product I would have made a label etc... and dressed it up for everyone. If I didn't make a cover and label it's because I just didn't give a crap and when I get something like that that's the feeling I get, the person just didn't care. Everyone is different though so I shouldn't jump to conclusions like that.

As I said before, someone told me to watch the DVD and then come back. I've got it going in the background now and I have to admit that it's top notch. On top of that I get the impression from listening to Danny talk that he's a pretty good person and not some egotistical ass clown like a lot of top pros can be.

I jumped too quick on this. The DVD is worth every penny I paid for it. I'm not happy that there's not a cover, sorry, that's just the way I am, but the DVD is worth all I paid for it.

So, Danny, if you read this, I apologize for being such a douche in the last thread. I hope this doesn't cause a riff between us but if it does I totally understand. For what it's worth, I think this DVD is going to be an invaluable tool for me and I thank you for sending it so quickly. Again, I'm sorry for being such an ass hat in that last thread.

it's all about the information anyway

I think the post that calmed me down the most was the one that someone said "What if you had downloaded this from the net." True, I wouldn't have thought anything about the money.

Like I said in my other thread concerning this, I think I look at myself when something like this happens and if I had done that then *WHY* did I do it. If I hadn't made a cover and label it's because I just didn't give a shit about the person getting it. Of course when something happens to you you draw from your own experiences or what you would do or why you would do it.

Yeah, that was a pretty dramatic thread. But go back and read RIBDONOR's post in it. He hit the nail on the head.

Take care. (and when you're on the meds...stay away from the keyboard!)

Yeah, to step away from this for a minute, they were talking about hospitalizing me because of the infection. I have to go back tomorrow morning and get the final verdict. Personally, I think it's looking a lot better. My only concern is that there is diabetes in my family and my grandfather lost his leg to gangrene after a similar injury that got infected and didn't heal. I've been in a semi state of panic these past few days. Not to mention that damn medication allergy that covered me in hives.

Jeez, bud, get that leg taken care of, quickly!

Diabetes is spooky stuff! They don't call it the silent killer for nothing.

Let us know what they say.

I'm 40. 10 years ago I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) that could easily turn to diabetes if I don't take care of myself. So far so good. Last blood/urine tests were in April and everything was fine so as far as I know right now I'm not diabetic. But yeah, I'm way concerned about this. I fell down some steps at school and landed right on my shin on the corner of a concrete step. Tore the hell out of my leg.

I'm sort of in the same boat as you with the hypoglycemia. We're even the same age. One thing I recently read was that men who are more predisposed to getting Type II diabetes lose hair on their legs, have short legs compared to torso, and get gray hair but not in their eyebrows.
That's me, me, and me. I'm just trying to get my fill of ice cream before it's too late.

Interesting. I don't have much hair on my legs but then again, I never have. Always been a sour point for me. My moustache and beard don't grow in real thick either. Don't get me wrong, I have a moustache and a goatee that look just fine, just that my moustache is really soft like a teenager. No problem with the length of the legs. I'm above average in height (6'1) and have a 34in inseam. No gray in the eyebrows as of yet but I just started finding gray hairs about a year or so ago, not to mention I'm blonde so they don't really show.

you'd never guess I'm 40 by looking at me

The site that I use (lulu.com) will make the dvd - It costs $5.50 -

Here is one that I have up at my storefront.... Did it all by myself with the tools on the website.

It roughly costs about $5.50 per dvd - no touch - they produce and ship.

It works for me.

My late father passed away from Diabetis over 12 years ago, and both my brother and eldest sister are both diabetic also, and so, as you can imagine, I'm being careful with what I drink and eat :)

That's some pretty nice work Blackjack, and at $5.50 per disc ain't bad at all :)

Thanks Willie

The only reason I created the DVD's was because Johnny and Earl were doing their instructional clinics - and I made these to see if Johnny wanted to order one (1) then just burn his own and sign them - and sell them to fans with his autograph.

I spoke to bfdlad about it, but I guess they have been busy.

These are just a tool for him to make a little extra at the clinics. I told Fatboy about them the other night during a phone conversation - if you'd like one - I can arrange it.

Hats off to you Blackjack for coming up with that idea of the design for Johnny's fans to have the extra available for his fans, after all it's the fans and the younger upcoming players, who learn from watching players like Johnny, Danny, Earl and countless other top pros, that help the sport to grow :)

Speaking of diabetes... I just ran across this site.

http://www.emineral.info/Presentations.html

Your body needs selenium. But many (most?) vitamins have an inorganic form which will be hoarded in the body but cannot be used properly and has been shown to cause diabetes. Selenomethianine is the organic form that the body can use. Check your vitamins.

Selenium is important for glutathione (the body's major antioxidant) function and heart function.

A good article on how most people are deficient in Selenium:

Eat a couple of brazil nuts everyday. They are by far the richest source of selenium.
