ken sent me three old brunswick hi-run cues to convert
deal was for less than $200 and i keep one of the three cues
to make a long story short, i totally screwed up the cue that was supposed to go to ken's buddy aj.
taper was all wrong, resembles a pencil, other problems too
the cue i kept and converted has been sold, awaiting payment due next week
whenever i get a cue completed i always post it on az, so, i felt i should also post the one that didn't turn out very well

to compensate ken for my mistake, i promised him another butterfly cue for his buddy and or refund some $$$$$$$
this is NOT a "checks in the mail" thread
ken has been super to deal with all along
i fully intend to make this right with him
i'm just slow!!!!!
ken told me several times, not to lose sleep over it, it's just a cue
i informed him, it was too late, i already have lost sleep over it :(
i hate screwups, especially MINE!!!!
ken, again, i apologize
hang in there
bare with me

its nice to see someone actually own up to a mistake brent...and in public too, which is rare these days. I'm sure Ken appreciates the apology, but won't lose sleep over it...he's a GREAT guy to work with! anyways, this was VERY big of you, and I applaude you for doing it!!

thanks, i wish it would have turned out better for ken's sake . i'm not the least bit concerned about appearing as a dufus on here. my old boss used to tell me, "if you aren't making mistakes, you aren't doing anything" . call it a learning experience. i just hate to "learn" at kens expense.

Now that the slate is clean, time to work toward perfection.
Looking forward to seeing the gems (I am thinking positive and I am sure you are capable).

true, very true...he's too nice a guy to have this happen to him, but on the other hand...things happen to EVERYONE, and I'm sure he realizes this and is being very patient I'm sure. Ken is one of the good guys on here, thats a fact. as far as you being a "dufus" on here...I just think a mistake was made and you are doing what you can to correct it, as a good buisnessman would do. I still feel you are being very noble about this, and wouldn't hesitate to deal with you myself...for being upfront and honest about this, good rep is coming your way from me. good job Brent!! keep it up!

lol, don't get it wrong though Brent, my cocobolo cue plays VERY well IMO...its just too flashy to use as much as my purpleheart ones, but yes, I absolutely love my purpleheart cues...IMO they play really well also. I've been fortunate enough to find a couple of cues that play well...now, if I could only decide which one I like the best and stick with it???  :D :D good luck to myself there, huh? lol

No apology necessary

Hi Brent, really no apology necessary here Pal....we both know you didn't mean for it to turn out this way :)
-- s__t just happens sometimes ;)

Hey, here's a not so good pic of these two cues

Wished I lived closer to you so I could come over to the shop for some instruction on "converting" some of these old cues :D ....I seem to learn something everyday by goofing something up :p  :p

Keep the faith ;)

thanks ken.
there's several "trophies", i like to call them, down in the woods behind my shop.
i can get some real nice distance chucking a pool cue when i'm pissed off enough.
when i saw aj's cue pictured there, it was then, that i realized i was so disgusted with that cue, that i didn't take any pics of it.
aren't exactly identical , are they??? :o
maybe i can get mr. wilson to delete your pics :D

Brent, you're obviously not a Californian. :D
Way to be a stand-up guy.

Now, where's the Hardinge collet-closer lathe you bought for me?
The one that was in prestine condition and makes pinning and facing a cakewalk.
Don't forget the 1,000 pieces of old growth maple dowels.
OK, we did agree to split that Brazilian rosewood 12 by 12 by 36.
I'll pay for shipping.:)

here's the cue to krbsailing, ken, to replace my screwup i did for him a few months ago
i hope you like it kenny & i hope it makes up for the pencil cue
i shot with it , feels good to me, good balance & firm hit
