Apologies to Qatar Billiards & Snooker Federation

I wanted to apologize for the ungrateful brats in the chat room this past week. Some of them acted and spoke inappropriately.

It's a shame that people who like pool can't be respectful of those who promote it and celebrate it.

A Free, HIGH-QUALITY live-stream production and we have to endure a bunch of filthy-mouths punks, attacking the very people who spent their money bringing us this great event.

I don't go in them anymore. Between what JoeyA said and 20 or more in there calling a top pro names for missing a shot and how there doing everything wrong. Probably most have little game and even smaller *****. Johnnyt

I'm sure the QBSF is reading this. :sorry:

Yeah, I'd get rid of the chat completely.

You know that is something I've wanted to do for most streams. I would love to have the option to turn off the chat so it is not burning my download gigabits. I'm usually in full screen mode anyway so focused on the match not the barking in the chat room.

i completely agree. well said JoeyA.
i was so disappointed with all the bashing that i had to just maximize the screen. as a Filipino, im sad that our players lost. i mean, we have been participating in this event since forever, and surely we will be participating in the future events. we are big fans of this sport. this year though, there were better players that outplayed our guys, but this is pool and there's no reason to bash anyone's nationality. the fact that this is a world event should mean that it is a celebration of the game itself and not a competition of countries or race or nationality.

Agreed. Thier religion is quite a bit intolerant of such shenanigans and was basically slapping them in the face.

I CERTAINLY wouldnt have a chat for each table...and I WOULD have multi language mods, IF I EVER DID IT AGAIN.

Asshats deluxe.

Joey, we need to have a beer. You and are aligned perfectly. :)

Just ban / block them out.

Johnnyt, the anonymity in the chat seems to bring out the worst in most people. :(

But I really can't understand how people can love pool and then disrespect the very people who brought you this fantastic event that you are watching, ON THEIR DIME!.

JoeyA

I suppose there are many others who feel the same way. This FREE LIVESTREAM provided by QBSF and Kozoom didn't deserve the negative comments that I saw on a regular basis.

My only hope is that they didn't monitor the chat room and if they did, well, that's what the apology is for.

JoeyA

Amen to all the above

Yeah, I'd get rid of the chat completely.

The chat is nice for people to catch up on the starting times of matches and a lot more. It stimulates interest and provides a central location for obtaining information instantly, among those who enjoy the chat.

I would just get good and decent people to ban the people who disrupt the chat with disrespectful comments.

JoeyA

Perhaps, perhaps not. I have to suppose that someone either in QBSF or Kozoom reads AZ Billiards Main Forum. In fact, I KNOW THAT THEY DO.

It's better to get the dirty laundry out there and acknowledge that it is embarrassing to some of us and apologize for those who are trying to ruin this for all of us.

wrickyb,

Full screen mode is the way to watch this event but that still doesn't solve the problem of the mean-spirited comments of a few which hurts all of us that appreciate the sport and the fact that Qatar Billiards & Snooker Federation PAID FOR THE very high-quality "free live-stream"..

JoeyA

Dump all chats, they are worthless, most of the time they have nothing to do with the match in progress. I watch streams for the pool, I could care less about who just signed on, what does that have to do with the game?

Dognit,
I dare say that there are far more of us out there. Many are silent and just don't want to take a stand.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani spent over $100,000,000 of his own money on the people who suffered in Hurricane Katrina, here in America. He didn't have to do that, but he did. Yes, that is ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. The Emir didn't ask for anything in return.

Americans and other countries whine about spending money on other countries who turn around and slap us in the face. Do those people in the chat room (who are being disrespectful think even for a moment that they might be doing the same thing to Qatar?

Qatar spends an enormous amount of money not just on the World 9 Ball Championship each year but on many other sports. They don't have to but they enjoy sports and the rest of the world should give them the respect that they deserve.

This could all go away in the blink of an eye and it would be a loss for all of us. To me, Qatar and other countries like them in the Middle East, they are a bridge between our different cultures and we should at the very minimum be appreciative of their generosity and kindness.

Bella,
I think that is the best solution, just ban the haters. They will get tired of creating new accounts just to talk trash in the chat room.

They could ruin it for all of us, if something isn't done about it.

I agree with the consensus here that the chat got really bad....
....I actually stopped reading it ..and I usually enjoy reading the chats....
....I've seen some great one-liners over the years.

My solution....
In backgammon tournaments, they establish an official language ....only that one can be
spoken at that tournament....( stops coaching)
Airport controllers must speak English around the world....for safety reasons.

Therefore let English be the official chat language.....
....with full time moderation....deleting and banning will clean it up.

I rarely post on chat...but I think a lot of us read it....I often get a kick out of it...
...but not this one.

Yes, the chat room can be fun, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the host and the people who make this great event happen.

I hope that those who chose to make the disrespectful comments will in the future, think about what they want to post and realize that those type of negative comments hurt all of us.

JoeyA

The chat was great fun!
