Archer vs. Nevel

Johnny Archer and Larry Nevel played a head set in 2008-09 in Greer, SC. Almost 20k in the middle. Johnny won in about 4 hours. I know they filmed that. I was wondering whatever happened to that video.

I remember Nevel was winning every tournament in that area for awhile. He was playing good. It's just that JA was on another level.

Would be interesting to see.

Another match I heard about but I'm not sure if it happened was, I guess a possible early TAR match between John Schmidt and Jason Kirkwood. Does anyone know if that actually went down? Not sure what the year would be, just early TAR days.

Yes it went down. I think Schmidt won by about 8 games. For some reason I think it was a race to 80 or so instead of 100. I think I bet a small amount on Kirkwood with a local to me guy at our poolroom.

I think it was also part of a double header. I recall the flyer had 2 games on it.

Must have been around 2008.

Thanks. What was the game?

Found it. Race to 100, even 10 ball. If you click on the picture it has more info but its a bit blurry.

Guess I'm assuming big table. If so, that's pretty impressive that Kirkwood played Schmidt close to even on a 9 footer when this was only a couple years after Schmidt won the US Open. Kirkwood was obviously known as a bar table player. Wish I could see the match. Aren't those early TAR matches lost to the binary dust bin?
