Are all slate screws holes supposed to be filled with bondo?

I've been playing on my new table and I've noticed there are "holes" under the cushions. What I mean, is I can run my fingers on the slate under the cushions and can feel depressions where the slate screws are. I assumed that when they used bondo/beeswax, they do the slate seams AND the holes where the slate is screwed in under the cushions. Or do they just leave them because the balls should never be able to touch that area as it's under the cushion.

Slate screws

I prefer not to fill the holes under the rails. I explain it to the customer, though, so they won't be surprised if they feel them later as you did, and offer to fill them if they prefer. Most don't. I never fill them with bondo.

Its just that I'm not a mechanic. Yet. I don't think I've earned the right. Kinda need an invite to join the club. Ain't there yet. Don

I hear ya...

But I got 2 collige digrees, so I know how to do a lotta things that I can't do!

I didn't think it would matter as the balls are not able to touch that area, I was just wondering. Thanks a ton fellas.

Like mentioned before, the only time I will fill the holes if NOT on the playing surface is if the owner of the table requests it. There is no reason to do so because the ball can not reach it, and just makes for a mess later down the road when taking the table apart.

Thank you Chevy! The pic says ALOT. Now the question is what to do about it? It may or may not happen to me. I was thinking of just letting it go, and if it ever happen in a few years, just ask them to come and recover the table with no labor charge, while I supply the cloth. Would that be fair should the event arise?
