Are Jacoby jump cues designed really hard to screw together?

I have never seen or used one before but just bought one online and man this one is really hard to get all the way screwed together. You gotta put some muscle into it for sure. The closer it gets to the bottom the harder it gets. Just wanted to see if that is how it is or if someone esle has one and it is not and i should be mad?

My Jacoby jump cue (shorty model with brass ferrule) screws together easily. If yours is the same model I would expect it should be the same.

I don't know what kind of joint they use, but this is kind of common with radial joints. Chances are the wood swelled in the joint from moisture - they're supposed to cinch at the last few turns like that under close tolerance, so even a small amount of swelling makes the joint difficult.

You can try putting some Vaseline on the screw and screw and unscrew it several times. That probably will work. If not, it will have to go to a cue maker or back to the dealer for a replacement or to Jacoby to ease the joint.
