Are these good GC alternatives?

I think the commercial Vitalie at $500 would be a decent buy,,,,,,I'd steer clear of the other one at any price,,,,,,

Gc

A search of 'Brunswick' in the Chicago craigslist shows a few GCs. Not sure how close you are to Crystal Lake, but that GC would be well worth a drive over the 2 in your post, IMO.

Agreed. If you want a GC, get a GC or you'll be disappointed. Both of the tables you linked to are entry level problematic tables. Hold out for what you really want.

Thanks for the input. CL always has a gazillion tables and I can tell most are crap but the Peter Vitalie interested me because it was used in a pool hall and I figured it might have been "good enough".
Crystal Lake would be a bit of a drive and I have 6 month old twins that seem to take most of my time when I'm not working.

Anyone in the Chicago area looking for a Gold Crown? Contact Ed Hiller @ Pro Tyme Billiards in Orland Park. He has several GC's (I, II, III & IV) for sale! PM me if you need his #.

I called Protyme about a GC 1 and they quoted me $1300 which is a bit over my budget. Was hoping for something between $500 and $1000.

Patience is a virtue that is well-rewarded.

If you wait, you will find the perfect table and be extremely happy/satisified that you held out for what you wanted. Or you will settle for something now, only to find the perfect table a week later.

I've been pretty patient. I'm starting to consider "settling" for another table but the GC seems to be one of the few that are unanimously very good tables.
