Are they still paying?

I only click on here about once a month but haven't seen anything about recent payments. Just curious.

Markus,

Do you (or any of the European players) have any type of legal representation regarding these payments, or are you merely hoping that Kevin will keep his word and pay you?

I can't help remembering back to what Deno said in the very last player's meeting... "Show up on time. There is NO EXCUSE for being late. We're all professionals, we should all act like it."

I hope you and the others all receive what you are owed, but retaining an attorney would be wise at this point. Its been almost a year, and by the time you receive all of what they owe you, most of the money that you have earned will be eaten up by taxes here... and there!

Howdy!

No, I don't have any legal representation, I don't know much about these kind of things..

Only thing which sounds wise when having as less knowledge as I do, but trying to use common sense, would be some sort of 'group lawsuit'.

A year ago this was "are they ever going to pay."

Would you measure this as progress?

The answer is yes.

I don't think this is progress. If you do a little investigating you will find that Kevin Trudeau is going about his business and dabbling in other endeavors as if this situation doesn't exist. I'm pretty sure that he is still paying himself on time, so why not the players?

While he is out there speaking at weight loss seminars, the players are sitting around waiting for their checks to arrive. They wait in the absence of certainty.

In an e-mail dated December 18, 2006, KT wrote this...

"We anticipate announcing the 2007 season schedule by March 1st. The schedule may be smaller than we had hoped.

We are on schedule for paying the players for the 2006 World Open. We anticipate getting all players paid in full within the first quarter of 2007. "

Kevin Trudeau did not deliver on either of those promises.

He goes on to say...

"If the IPT is not capable of fulfilling the 2007 season schedule as we had previously announced, the IPT will refund the $2000 entry fee to every single player who entered a qualifying tournament for a 2007 Tour Card! By March 1st, we should know what the 2007 season schedule will be."

He hasn't followed through on that one either.

To refresh your memory, here is the e-mail in its entirety as it appeared on the BD website and in this forum...

Kevin Trudeau: E-Mail December 18, 2006

This isn't progress, its stalling. I wonder of the merger with Ho Interactive has gone through yet? Don't hold you breath.

What'd you expect the IPT operator is a shrewd business type, if he stops now he looks guilty.

Too bad no one has caught up with him to put him into check.

As for the letter well it looks rushed.

I have firsthand knowledge that the checks are still being sent out to the IPT players, in case anyone is interested.

I also have firsthand knowledge that Deno Andrews made some courtesy phone calls in recent times to some IPT members.

As well, I have firsthand knowledge that some IPT members' opinions are quite the opposite than a few of the repetitive doom-and-gloom ones expressed ad nauseum in the past as well as on this thread.

A little discussion for those willing to discuss is what this forum is about.

As for whats actually happening Im sure someone might be able to tell you ten years from now how it really went down.

A crazy parallel would be to make an analogy of the IPT situation with the situation of Iraq.

Specifically whats printed and readily made available to read is not expressing the views of the people that it is immediately affecting.

Soldiers cannot publicize their views under their contract likewise to IPT players.

Wow, that's a great parallel, and truth be told, I believe it to be a valid one! :)

Actually, this is the first time I've checked into the IPT forum in a long while. There hasn't been much happening for sure. What I find hilarious, though, is reading the same long drawn-out dissertations. It's like getting stale bread at the supermarket. :D

Ouch. I quoted your first replay before you edited it! :o

There's not much to discuss about the IPT at this juncture. If the players keep getting checks, that's a good thing.

It will be interesting, 10 years from now, to see what folks will think about the IPT. Hey, I wonder if the IPT paraphernalia I have will become collector's items on eBay then! :D

I would have to disagree with you entirely on that - and I have first hand knowledge also. Perhaps there is a split, but I know many players that have no intention of playing on the IPT again.

Ask Rodney Morris if his opinion is opposite of mine. I'm sure that he wll give you more than an earful. Is he a doom and gloomer too?

The IPT has been a train wreck from the very start, Jennie. Through it all you have labeled me a doom and gloomer, which is fine with me, yet everything that I said would happen - eventually happened - or am I making all of this stuff up? lol

"He ruined the IPT with his negative comments" is a conspiracy theory that Kevin & Co. has decided to blame on me. I guess they couldn't think of anything else. When all else fails - shift the blame. At least Kevin is consistent.lol.

All I have done is look at this thing realistically. He had all of this money going out and hardly any money coming in. It had no chance of surviving. No matter how many website memberships he sold, it was going to end. IMO, it didn't have a prayer from the start.

In the very beginning I said that the business model did not make any sense at all. You told me that I was being negative. That's your opinion, but it didn't change the fact that the IPT was a house of cards trapped in a wind tunnel. It crumbled and fell to the ground as advertised - even sooner than I suspected (by about a month). Not many people are very hopeful that the IPT will revive itself, and if it does, nobody of any significance is going to pay any attention to it or play in it - nor should they. Anybody that does is just chasing the carrot on the stick.

A lot of this could have been avoided by the players. Kevin bought their loyalty and made promises that he had absolutely no intention of keeping. There are players all over the world wondering where their money is. People paid money in qualifiers to play in tournaments that never took place. Where is their money? I know where it is. It's in Kevin's pockets.

Keep labeling me and everybody else as "negative' because Kevin Trudeau is counting on you for your gullability. Don't let him down! :p

YAWN!

Can't wait for the lightning round!

I think the yawn means she is waiting for a constructive remark. Like what do you suggest people do, get all angry and mean faced at the IPT organizers.

Because that is what it sounds like. If by your realistic remarks you intend that people side with your doom and gloom then what do they do.

Just give Kevin some credit. He did more for pool and the players than anyone in the game's history has. So just give him some breathing room. Kevin's the greatest. I am confident he will make it right. He might even give the players a bonus.
Yes, Kevin organized a major pool tour, with higher prize funds than ever before. However, he also went back on his commitments to the players and he has failed to pay the prizes promptly. This, yet again, shows potential sponsors that the world of pool is filled with untrustworthy people and it convinces the sponsors to take their money elsewhere.
Kevin T. is just another black eye for a sport stuggling to get good sponsorship.
