What sound do you like your tip to make when you know its "just right" and you wish it would stay that way forever.....

Me crappy bar playing, DONKER.....
When the equipment is right, CLICKER....

At first, I didn't think much about it. But then, I started playing all the different noises of a pool hall in my head. Good words to explain the noises...bizarre poll...but good descriptions. :-) I think I like ALL the noises. Anything in a pool hall sounds like music to me.

I'd need another option...."pink"....and not the color. Not to be confused with "ping", which has a "ring" to it, but "pink" as in a nice tight, short, solid sound.

haha, I always thought of dudes with graphite cues shooting with a distinctive "tink!" sound. And phenolic break tips can sound like a loud sharp DINK!.

When I'm shooting well I tend to be shooting softly and gently rolling into position, so a lighter sound like click makes more sense. The 3-part sound of a successful shot (tip contact...cb contact... pocket contact) is tok-click-clop.

LOL! Your poll conjured up an image of the Crocodile Dundee II movie where the drug guys follow him to Australia. The bad guy (with a rifle) approaches the little guy (whose drinking a beer in the middle of nowhere) and says something like, "You don't have a gun!?" Answer, "I don't need no gun, I've got a Donk!" "What's a Donk?" And, Donk (the biggest, ugliest most inbred looking SOB in their local bar) appears and bonks the bad guy on the head.

Translate to pool scene: You're playing in a heads up money game and your opponent starts woofing and sharking you big time. You retort that you don't need to worry about his sorry ass beating you because your pool cue comes with a DONK (i.e., the biggest, bad a$$, meanest inbred looking SOB in the place)!

"pong", is da bomb...

Those that played with some of the ol "tanged" cues (JW, TASC, BUSHKA, SZAM?) know what i'm talkin about.
