Well I pick up a couple of Dozen of the Rocks that look kind of like unusual river rock, as I thought maybe I could use a little Luck.

A couple of dozen?
Couldn't take just one?

Yeah... I carry a humans foot on a chain around my neck... I know it's supposed to be lucky but so far it hasn't done much for my game.

It's got to have athlete's foot for it to do any good. Just an ordinary foot from a non-jock won't help, and the foot of a geek will absolutely hurt your game.

If I'm doing well with a particular piece of chalk, I'll only use that piece for the night. lol And noone else can use my chalk!!

I am very superstitious. By the way, Marissayi, you
are indeed a Southern angel.

The problem with mystical supertitions is that you're giving up your power to some thing outside of yourself. So if you win, YOU didn't really win, the object did it for you. If you lose, YOU didn't really lose, the object didn't work usually because of some OTHER superstition.

Makes it kinda convenient doesn't it?

It's bullshit and should be taken out of your shot immediately.

LOL.

Silly Hamster, in order to have a leg up on the competition, one must….., well…

Not superstitious as such, but I'll tell you, when I do well.....I am extra sure to include a little thank you to Jesus.

When I am doing poorly, I try and remember that I have the ability to play better than I am and apply the gift He's given.

This always cracks me up when people thank God/Jesus...lol. I sure hope that, if the major religions are indeed correct, God/Jesus/Major Diety has better things to do then to "fix" games or sporting events...lol.

Are you one of those folk who carries a Lucky Charm, to help you Win, Arrive at your destination, or Bring your Luck. If you carry such an item what is it. Where dod you get it, and what is the story behind the item?

No I'm not but I always call tails. It's going to be tails so why not call it? LOL

Zack, Is that going to be the extent of your contribution to this thread?

Maybe you could add something positive?

I didn't see anything negative about Zack's post. Just because he doesn't have the same religious belief as you doesn't make his post positive or negative.

Sorry Dave, I am not typically a superstitious person. I believe that you pretty much make your own luck. That being said, I am pretty proficient at making the bad kind...lol.

Well, thank you very much :D Maybe my halo is a good luck charm ;) My ex-boyfriend always did well when I was around. He even won the VNEA 9-ball Championships when we were in Vegas last year. My services are available for a nominal fee lol

How about for the foot rubs you mentioned in an earlier post?! :D

...Dave

God, no matter which one you believe in, doesn't get involved in petty things such as pool and other games/sports, so no need to give him thanks.

I've always thought this was funny myself. I thank God for the talent I was born with or have developed, but I don't think he has a player/team preference.

I would hope he would be working on world peace, if anything! lol

I concur I really think it silly when some baseball player draws a cross in the dirt with his bat or somebody says a prayer in the endzone after a touchdown. It's one thing (if you believe) to pray for the general safety of all participants, but to pray to win (ie. pray bad things for your opponent) just doesn't seem right to me.

So my feet are safe!

They are small enough to carry, though. You could sneak one to your opponent to increase your own luck. No good offer refused :p But you need to rub them once in awhile lol

If your avatar is your picture, you certainly don't look like a geek. Though working in the software industry a good bit of my life I have found that geeks come in all shapes and sizes, even pretty ones.
