Are you happy?

I have some mental goals - 5+ pack in 8 or 9, 50 in straight pool, make a ball on the break at least 50% of the time on any condition.

I'm not there yet. I'm pleased to be a pretty strong player, but I occasionally bump into stronger players and it bugs me.

"Are you happy?" is a loaded question so I won't go there ... Let me pop a Vicodin and answer some though (Dr. House wanna be).

Regarding specifically to pool skills/ability, I'm always striving to improve so I'm never happy (sometimes unhappy). It's like golf when I played .. I was never going to be scratch golfer but wanted to improve on whatever index/handicap I was. Maybe "satisfaction" is a better word.

Like golf, I don't need another person to play pool. I used to luv hitting balls at the range and in pool, I luv hitting balls by myself, running drills, playing ghost or playing straight-pool. Luv being in that "zone" when things are going better than expected.

Like golf, sometimes I like playing with others. Especially 1 pocket since that's a bit hard to enjoy alone.

Like golf, I'm an equipment junkie .. always trying to find that holy grails or the latest gadget. Spent far more in pool related equipments than golf though ... would've never imagined that before I got into cues ...

Accepting is a better word to describe it for me, though given the other things in my life and the amount of time I devote, I guess I'm happy. Except my straight pool game, but I'm never happy with that. ;)
