You bring up a good point.
But on that same wavelength, when i was growing up, watching an umpire and a coach going at it with them in each others faces, spitting up a storm with the coach kicking dirt on the plate, was kind of entertaining.
Cause to me, baseball is WAY more boring then pool, and those were the high lites of an otherwise boring pastime.
But in light of your point, i would think that in major SPORTS, and i truly feel that pool is NOT a sport at least not in the same way those other sports are sports, i feel that it is a different animal.
Your talking about sports where the sole object is to crush the guy with the ball so that you can get it back.
Your talking about watching blood bounce off the ice.
Your talking about guys getting broken bones as a result of the sport they are playing with.
That isn't pool.
Unless we are moving to a full contact/sharking pool era, i don't think the appeal for pool is the same.
As it stands now, pool is an elegant game, and not one of brutality.
I feel that sponsors are looking for different things as a result.
It's not like i have to beat you up in a battle of physical strength so that when i win, i can shoot a straight in duck. should that ever be the case, then it isn't pool as we know it.
