Well I meant to post earlier, but I was late coming home because got stuck on the 202!
I feel like our first event was a success. We were hoping to draw at least 50 for our opening event, and we drew 57. In some parts of the country, that wouldn't be a great turnout, but it's definitely respectable here in Phoenix, especially when it's somewhat rare when our local events attract any players from out of town to help add to the number of participants (with the exception of the Desert Dust Off).
I got my first taste of being on the other side of the tournament chart, so to speak. Even though I did not run the tournament (Bull ran it and, as usual, did a great job), being one of the tour directors/promoters/whatever-you want-to-call-us, I was one of the guys on the receiving end of all of the feedback, both positive and, in very few cases, negative as well. I think I have a new-found respect for all of the people out there who have spent time organizing, planning and running tournaments.
Thanks to everyone who participated, and we hope to see you all again at Main Street Billiards in Tucson in April.
