Anyone know a good site that sells nice and affordable billiards artwork or photos? Seyberts is very limited (only dogs playing pool and hustler decor). I really would like to get some nice frames in my billiard room. Thx in advance!

Also, if someone knows where they sell pictures of pool champions? :)

Check out deviantart.com, search on 'billiards'. Loads of good, affordable art/photos.

Ebay used to have a ton of old pool prints. I haven't checked lately but its worth a shot. If you have something particular that you wanted printed I may be able to help you out, I manage a small print shop and have done some prints for other AZ'ers.

why not take pictures off the internet or take some yourself and place them on a flash drive and bring them somewhere and blow them up and frame them, i would do this.

That's a good idea but won't there be copyright problems with this? I know walmart, for example, is very particular about what they can print for u. My wife has had trouble with that in the past. But I guess therez a very easy way to find out :D thx for the suggestion! And thx for all the other replies as well!

my avtar is of myself, i ripped a frame out of a video of myself! Hint  be creative! print screen button can also helpful ;) also search billiard images on bing, yahoo, goggle, flicker, etc. You can come up with a lot of themes this way also, could be fun also. There also must be other places other then Walmart to do this also if you run into a problem.

pmata,

If you find some images and can't get them printed talk to cdryden (posted above), he should be able to get the images printed porfessionally for you and shipped. I sent him a picture a while back and it looks great on my wall now. He was great to deal with.

Thanks for the kind words Shorty, I'm really glad you like it. Hope all is going well for you.

Because that's stealing. Plain and simple.

There are plenty of available and affordable billiard-related art sources online; just takes couple of google searches for "pool billiard art".

I'm hardly a stickler for the rules (and I dont go to church), but as a part-time photographer, I do take serious offense to the idea and support for just taking images from the internet and printing them. Anything found online that's worth printing out was likely the result of someone else's hard work and they should get paid for their work. It's no different than videotaping a movie in a theater.

The caveat of course is that if that image was published online with a Creative Commons license, specifically granting public use. That would be a purposeful decision by the artist and as such, I can't argue against.

Try ebay I have quite a collection that I got from ebay. Including a handbill from a Mosconi exhibition and a poster from the sands open. And tons of great photos...

Just for the record, I was only talking about printing non-copyright pictures. Not that anyone said I did, I just re read the thread and thought I would clear things up a bit.

Assuming I found 'free' images on the internet, wouldn't they become pixelated when I blow them up?

I have looked on ebay but I only found B/W pictures. I'd like some pictures of players like Archer, Reyes etc. I did find some very nice artwork on art.com. I just have to see if I can find cheap frames at like target or something. Because their framing is extremely expensive!

I don't really know much about the history of the game so if u can suggest some names of pool greats I'd know whoz worth buying in B/W :) the only name I know is Mosconi.

I hate looking at the same avatar all the time, so I change it every couple of months. heh

But, if the pics are in the public domain, then i can't argue against it; like I said earlier. The original suggestion didn't include that modifier though. :p

To the original poster, here's a photographer with lots of pool player pics available:

It depends on the resolution of the original image and how big you want to make the image. A low resolution image say 100 x 100 or less will not look very good when printed at a 11" x 15" size.
If you find something and want to know how it will look at a certain size just let me know. I can blow it up for you and send it back to you so you can see if you like it or not. No charge.

It's also worth mentioning that flaws due to low res will become more noticeable when printed than when viewed on a monitor. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

The largest selection i have ever seen together is on allposters.com. Serch pool or billiards. Its a crazy amount of pieces.

CVS or Walgreens usually do poster prints that are reasonably priced.
