Can any of the veterans chime in on Artie Bodendorfer. I know he played out of Bensingers and the recent talk about unknown champions made me think of him.

Not real sure Artie should be called an "unknown champion." Lots of oldtimers know Artie.

Well I first read about him in freddy B banking book. He had some interesting stories about him and I wanted to hear more. Thanks will read
He was tough to beat on his table. Basically a one table champion, like Bud Hypes. When he went on the road he became a true hustler, ala Jack Cooney, laying down for the right game. He avoided top players when off his home turf.
Not a tournament player and didn't want to be. His game was One Pocket, but could play Eight Ball and Jacked Up pool very well also.
