I agree and just sent a PM to the mods about the behavior of the members actions. The OP has every right to ask whatever he wants for his item..

I have shot with an Esoteric sneaky that I got for under $300 and I thought it had a nice hit.

I am sure this cue is very pretty.

Hey 1 Out,

Thanks for bring up those points but IMO everyone is entitled to their view.

No worries, Stu and I can handle the critics,

Rick

Hi,

Stu and I placed this cue on Ebay. This cue's listing was pulled from the Ebay auction because I decribed it as having Ivory inlay / parts.

Ebay does not allow you to list anything that includes ivory, note than pre banned is not allowed.

This was a lessoned learned for me so I though I would pass on my experience so other sellers could learn from my experience.

Rick

Info on Cue:

"Orca II" by Esoteric Cue

"Orca II' is a 12 point ( 6 high - 6 low ) modified tuxedo cue with just a splash of blood red. It has 138 ivory inlays on a fully cored cue blank with a BEM forearm into ebony, maple handle and ebony butt sleeve. The cue was built and inlaid in the Esoteric Cue Shop by Rick Geschrey in 2012.

This Cue was designed by Ken (Stu) Mortson whereby his inlay design symbolizes a great white shark feeding while he becomes the dinner for the Orca Killer Whale.

The original Orca was inlayed on a patograph over 30 years ago and is the sequel to the famous "Jaws Cue" while Stu was creating design and performing pantograph art in California. The original "Orca" is destined for a permanent display of modern cue art design with 8 other of Stu's masterpiece cues in a New York Art Museum as a legacy.

Orca II is a tribute to this great flowing design and is a compilation of the work of 3 generations. Ken (Stu) Mortson (89) as the designer, Rick Geschrey (58) as the Cue Maker and Ken Simonson (39) as the Cue Artist that rendered the theme of these inlays into Art on the handle.

Thank you for Looking.

I'll man up and apologize. When I see somebody post a like to eBay and the pics don't do the cue justice and the person posting doesn't seem to have a lot of posts on here I prejudge and think scam.

I'll keep my opinions to myself. Thanks for the lesson on preban ivory too, I had no idea. I have seen some of your other cues pop up here and there on ebay and here for sale. You do some fine work.

Again my apologies for my hasty remark.

Hey DS,

Thanks & everything is cool. I think I should have said nothing about the ivory at all and just made sure not to ship it out of the country. Since I said The "I" word in the description the ebay police sent me the rules and stopped the auction.

Oh well,

Rick

I dont know if this helps or not, I see things with ivory almost every time I venture into ebay. They just do "iv**y" instead of putting "ivory" I dont know if it will work but it could be worth a try.

As well, that cue is an incredible piece of art work.

Thanks JM,

I will give that a try.

Why not just imply it by saying something like Natural Materials in White? I would not use any words with even the letter I V or Y in them as this could be an auto system. I also do not understand how they can ban the sale of pre-bad ivory in the US.

How would eBay go about policing this? How would they determine what is and isn't pre-ban? Much easier to simply ban all sales.

I think it is a legal issue they don't want to mess with and when the word Ivory is used they are alerted like swearing on AZ.

Thanks

Rick

Stu,

I spent some time with you and Ray Schuler in Vegas over 10 years ago. Love your cues.

This one is way out of my league for sure and I don't think someone would actually play pool with this cue.

This is the coolest cue and I love the inlays and art telling the story of nature for sure. It is a beautiful piece of art and I am sure the person that buys this bad boy will display it proudly.

Good luck. Glad to see your still in the game man,

Ken
