Dman said:What about Joint sizes? Whats the smallest joint you have used and how did it effect the play of the cue? I have been trying to stay at .850, but I let one get away from me while trying to even the points and ran under due to lack of brain cells or may have been the scotch that night.
Darn I just had a thought. If I have more than one drink while alone in the shop, does that mean I need to seek medical treatment? Crap trying to learn to build cues has turned me into an alcoholic! To hell with auto clear! Now I have to worry about my liver too!![]()
Joint sizes.. well you know.. like a Cheech and Chong special will do the trick.. lol Anyways.. I had a titlist Gus and the joint was small, .830 ish, and it played very solid. One mans crappy hitting cue is another man's Balabushka. As someone who has had the privilege of having just about every cuemakers cue, at least those with 5 years of service, on the planet I will say, when I test hit a cue I listen for the obvious. Tings, pings, clacks, buzzes, if none of these exist, then the cue hits solid. Joint size might be relevant depending upon what you do with the taper.
