asking for advice on our cue web site?

I don't like sites that only give me a price range to scroll, If you had an option just above the prices to be able to sort through brands or crafters. That would make me happy. :p

Might want to add alittle cue accessories to your list, just so you can keep them coming back and shopping. You are probably already thinking that.

And this goes with the above, you might want to get ride of the Recommanded Sites link as this gives your guest some where else to shop and takes them away from your site. I know most people think that this is a good idea, but it is a business killer for online shopping. You want your guest to stay on your page to purchuse, not redirected.

Just my .02 - taxes = .0005

***EDITED***

Nice site by the way. It feels good and from the looks of it, your images are high res quality and small enough for fast browsing. Cheers.

It is a nice looking site.
The only problem with the search by maker box is that it assumes we (I) know how to spell every cuemakers name correctly. :o I would much prefer a clickable index of cuemakers

nice site. i like the design.

i'm not trying to start a semi-religious argument, but most of the experienced web developers i know consider Flash an archaic and over-used toy at this point. it's an especially poor choice as the main point of navigation, as many mac users (me included) simply turn off Flash in their browsers.

unrequested sounds on a web site are Always inappropriate, and these ones serve no purpose.

that said, the overall site design is very attractive and effective.

Looks good to me!

Personally, I like the "Price Range" type of quick search. I won't lie, I don't expect to be interested in cues in the $5000 range, but I might be interested in something for less than that. So, it's easy for me to check a couple ranges to see if there's something new I might like.

Images are good, but some of the backgrounds aren't appealing. There are enough images for each cue, but more might help sometimes. I don't know if it's possible, but after clicking on a image, some sites allow a zoomed image (where you click on the "+" to zoom the image again).

Easy navigation, not a lot of slow loading flash....I like it!

I have saved it to my bookmarks.

Nice site, nice pictures, easy to find cues in a price range, and the descriptions are pretty good.
The only thing I do not like is the search function to find a certain cue. It is like using a search engine (google, yahoo, etc.) looking for certain item where you have to weed through layers of either previously sold cues, or a name used to describe a similar design (Szamboti like) and it is not efficient. An index by cue maker would be more appealing to me and I would visit more often.

Very similar to my experience. I was searching for a cue a couple of weeks ago and the results were a mixture of sold cues with one that was still for sale. I love looking at cues, but it kind of sucked when I got six results, that I assumed were for sale, only to find that they were no longer available.

Maybe if you could change the search to look for cues that are not sold, or have the word sold in the title so I can know what to click on before hand.

It's a little distracting that the header loads on every page.

This can be corrected by using iframes to break the page into distinct pieces. This way you can refresh a single part of the page while the rest of the page remains static - and a global header would only need to load once.
