Thanks Chip.......the comps are much appreciated.

No offense intended.........you just gave me my laugh for the day!

Good luck also on your pin project.

Who would buy anything from someone only known as "poolsucker". He does not post his name, address, web site, email or other information that a legatimate business automatically lists.

Not a buyersucker today,

nice post.

i have a few carbon fiber pins that Tom made for me out of rod i sent him and they are very nice playing pins.i think they weigh 5 grams in the new style 3/8-10.i have know Chip for 10 years and he is good as gold.i haven't seen any of his pins yet but if Chip says he will give a satisfaction guarantee he will.he is a very honest person.

Chip, don't forget my jelly roll for the carbon fiber idea.

This isn't a new idea just like G-10 wasn't new 5 years ago. And there are all sorts of differing material, and application for it. I happened to be the quality control manager for american composite group around 4 years ago, so I got some very good hands on knowledge of this material.

This material is very easy to cure, cut, manufacture...bla bla bla. Just don't think your getting the same structural strength as from G-10, the G-10 doesn't have the almost limitless applications the carbon does...

There for: you got a much bigger variable as to the strengths of different types of carbon fiber material. You got things like resign to fiber ratio that makes all the difference in the world.

Its a wonderful material just be aware what you are buying...it might or might not be what you want. One particular type might have great tensile strength while the other may not one may be unidirectional and the other may not...

Funny story tho, guy at the plant asked me once who had the most important job there. I said, "gotta be me dude", our main accounts were with NASA and McLaren. I told him ,"what if I pass material thats faulty and the space shuttle blows up half way to the moon?" He said, "got me there brother...keep up the good work!"

Further more if any of you get the bright idea to try and produce this material work with the finished product, please please have proper ventilation and or clean air, the resins and fibers are all dangerous to your health, and some of the smells are pretty intense. Especially when cutting this stuff acts just like fiberglass and will get in an irritate your lungs.

Best Wishes.

Purchase

I purchased 50 SS 3/8-10 and 3/8 radial from Chip about 2 months ago. The quality of these pins are just as good if not better than some of the other suppliers. I would have no problem referring this product to anyone.

carbon fibar pins

I made some samples of the carbon fibar pins and they did not come out perfect, some of the treads flaked a small amount and I need to figure out what the problem is. Thank you, Chip Ginther

Pins

THE rod does not have enough resin. It has just a few flakes out of the treads that would probably tear up the shaft. My machinest thiks he can make the right stuff himself. By the way I'll give you 2 dozen g10 black pins for free if you can find some 7/16 black rod though at a reasonable price.
Chip,is he using a new diamond cutter?
