I can totally respect that aspect of any transaction, however, when you are advertising on a public forum of any type, selling anything, there will be a great deal of traffic, and part of the privacy will go out the window automatically. But there is no need for people to be openly Disrespectful or Snooty to others because they ask questions, even if the questions are not what you asked for , it kinda just go's with the open public territory.![]()
Manwon,
You're very close. This is as bad as a "secret list", because if you're on the list how many others are also on the "list". So now 20 people who e-mail you get a price and pics.. so if they want to resell the cue, 20 people have now seen the cue. With a high end cue, that might be your 20 possible buyers on resale. Its all smoke and mirrors. I laughed my rear off at the other offer of being on a "list". Whoever is on the list will see what you paid (or what the price was).
But you want to know what this allows.. it allows a dealer to say that hey.. this high end buyer wants the cue, so now let me bump it a little to him.. or maybe a guy he is dying to do business with wants it and he lowers it to get into that persons pocket. But the difference is it's not seen by a lot of other prospective buyers. Now I am not saying that Mike does this, but this is how I see being on a "list", it's just my opinion of that practice. On our lists its for specific cues, we e-mail you on that cue only before we post it, for the price we are going to post it for.
BTW you're talking to someone that used to do mailing fliers before the age of the internet.
