In memory of long time action lover, stake horse and gambler Bobby Stocks who was a very successful business owner that resided in Sterling, Virginia. He was also from North Carolina and Florida. Bobby was 62 years old when he past away. He was well known all over for his high dollar action state of mind. The man was full of gamble and just loved being around it and being a part of it. Now a 9 ball tournament has been formed in his name.
The Annual Bobby Stocks Memorial 9 Ball Tournement is scheduled for July 29th and 30th. If we have a field of 64 players or more the house will add an extra $1,000 to make it a $4,000 added event. Plus there are more locals and long time friends of his that want to add more money. this is gonna be a well paid tournement for sure.
Format is double elimination race to 9 on winners side and race to 7 on losers side. Final match is one race to 11. Same rules as the Tiger/Planet Pool Tour. Entry fee is $62. $2 is taken out to be donated to a heart disease foundation. It is going to be held at First Break Cafe in Sterling, Va. The room opens at 10 am that saturday morning and the players meeting is at 11 am. Please do not be late. Player auction at 11:30 am. Match play starts ASAP. Note -(20% of player auction money donated to a heart disease foundation). For questions about anything call (703) 606-7564 or (703) 444-2551.
We are also proud to announce that this tournament will be ran by the Tiger/Planet Pool Tour Directors Nick Prinslu and CeCi Strain. This is going to be a wonderful event so come out and enjoy the action and good food with us at First Break Cafe.

How many times are you going to post this? It is here twice on the main section which is NOT for tournament information and Once in the tournament section, where it is supposed to be..

I understand it is important to you, but so is everyone elses events in which they post them where they are supposed to be!

The more you spam people with this thread, the lass they will pay attention to you, FWIW

Im gonna post it again, and then after that I will post it again, and the next time I post it it will be for you buddy:D You dont have to read it twice. Mind your business sir. I like to keep the post on the first page when you open the main forum. Oh, and to let you know, I have had people view it every time I posted it, and im sure its not the same people viewing it every time.

And the next time it is posted will be the last we ever hear of it.

This is the second thread about this tourney that I have moved to the appropriate place.

This forum is not online just for you to advertise this event.

Mike

im not the only person who posts about tournaments in the main forum. there was two other people who re-posted my thread about the tournament. ill keep it limited and i apoligize for you gettin sick of seeing it posted in the wrong spot. Bobby Stocks was well known thoughout the pool world so i felt it would be even better to post the thread in the main forum so more people would see. And by the way, i post alot on AZ Billards and i dont just use this site for advertisement thank you. have a good day, and dont get mad if i post about Bobby's Memorial again in the main forum. it wont happen that often.

I don't have any problem with people posting threads about upcoming events as long as they go to the right place.

Posting it on the main forum over and over to make sure it stays on page 1 is a bit over the line though.

He asked you not to post it ever again on the main forum. People looking for events will look at the tournament section, I assure you.

Good luck with you event.:D

An excellent farewell to Bob!

We're very excited to host this event - Bob Stocks was an awesome guy, and a longtime supporter of the Tiger/Planet-Pool Tour.

Eydie & Mike - sorry if our buddy offended by posting it in the main forum - it wasn't just a tournament announcement to him - he also wanted to make sure that Bob's friends he made along the way down the road all heard the sad news of his passing as well as saw the invite. He did make a lot of friends down the road over the years.

We've already heard from a lot of well known players, and this should be a highly attended event. We're gonna start early and run late!

The entire entry fees are being put into the purse along with the added $.

As was mentioned in the first thread - $2 from each entry is being given to the Heart Disease Foundation in Bob's name as well as 20% of the calcutta fund. The calcutta should get pretty big on it's own since we have a large stock of heavy hitters coming out for this event.

I hope to see a lot of you there! I couldn't think of a better way to say good bye to Bob!

I was not offended by the posting of it at all. It was just became so redundant. Then when I pointed it out, he came back very rudely to me.

I agree, it was a good cause, but I think a better way would have been to submit some of the information and let us do a write up on it, which I think is still very possible.

Ceci, are you guys shooting for a one day only event? I have to go to a wedding that afternoon & of course the reception following... I know that I could get out there early Sun but I don't think I could get away early enough on Sat to make it out there at a decent time....

Thanks!

Eydie - who should we give the info to? Mike H.? That would be great to do an additional write up in a different format. Definitely sorry for the redundancy, and please forgive our friend. If you knew him, you'd realize it wasn't that he's meaning to be rude - Bob was a good friend and he's very sensitive about the whole thing - he's definitely a sweet guy if you get to know him. ;) Aren't they all though.

Timberly - we're doing a two day event for an open divison only - there won't be a separate women's event like we normally have with Tiger - but the women are certainly invited. I believe their discussing doing a discounted entry fee for the ladies too - details to follow! We'd love to have you out - Daniel will probably be there taking pictures - and we'll definitely do a write up.

If there's anyone out there that wants to do any additional donations of either raffle items to raise additional funds for the Heart Disease Foundation - or if you just want to donate to the Heart Disease Foundation in Bob's memory - please feel free to PM me and we'll get together on the details!

Thanks everyone.

CC!

I would submit it now as a PR. It will get way more exposure on the front page then here. Then after the event, write another PR or write up and include pictures and submit it. If I were closer, I would cover it. If Tim's is coming she is an excellent correspondent, and I am sure she would help you as well. Submit it to Housepro@Azbilliards.com

What kind of raffle prizes are you looking for? Email me at windycityopen@aol.com and I will see what I can come up with for you, ok! You know, for you, anything!!!:)
