What I am trying to come up with here is a list of all tournaments within one
hour driving distance of Atlanta ,GA. Meaning a current list of weekly
tournaments and I want to know every last one. 8 ball ,9 ball, 1 pocket, and
14.1 bar box and 9 ft .
Maybe we could do this for each major city and help some of the smaller weekly
stops get more attendance .I will start the list and as I am notified will add more to it and
bump it .Just wanted to start this here and move it over to the tournament thread after I get some feedback .

i know there are smaller race to 2 or 3 three tournaments with low entry like an 8 ball at sweetwater billiards on saturday night i think, sunday afternoon 9 ball at mazzy's in alpharetta. but i am not sure about entries, races, start times, so forth.

thanks

Will update list .....keep em comming .I know there are ALOT of weekly
tournaments in the area .

Sweetwater Billiards (Duluth/Lawrenceville?) - 8 Ball saturday night (8:00 i think), race to 2, double elimination, 10 bucks entry if I'm not mistaken.

Will Henry's Tavern (Lilburn) - Nine ball texas express (push-outs allowed), race to 2, double elimination - 5 bucks entry, bar cash pot match
- bet your tables arent as crappy as these but it's a good time

what night is Will Henry's tournament ?

just wanted update some info. played in the mr. cues friday night tourney last night. good tournament. big field. double elimination. 20 bucks to get in, practice at 7, starts close to 8. supposed to be c and d but there were, i'd say from b players down. handicaps are fair. talked to some people who said the monday open tourney is the same price and start times but single elimination.

Any AZBers want to get into a good cheap tourney come out to Will Henry's Tavern in Lilburn tonight around 7 or 8. Race to 2 double elimination, 5 dollar entry on bar boxes. Texas Express rules. Good times, "interesting" people.

Any new weekly tournament info for the Atlanta area?

Will Henry's Tavern's Tuesday 9-ball tournament in Lilburn is still going strong! 20+ players on average and a broad mix of skill levels.

Mr. Cues II - Monday night open 9-ball tournament

Anyone know how Monday nights at Mr. Cues II is handicapped?

Anyone know how Monday nights at Mr. Cues II is handicapped?

they give games on the wire. i am not sure of exact numbers for all races but i play as a 5 in the friday c and d tourney and i know 5 vs. 5 is a race to 3. 6 vs. 5 is a 4-3 race, 7 vs. 5 is a 5-3 race. i know the friday is double elim the monday is single. i've made it to the finals of the friday and in the finals it's a straight race to your handicap. for example i played a 6 in the finals so he went to six and i went to 5. i am not sure if monday is the same. if the don (the guy who runs it) doesn't know you you'll play as the highest handicap unless someone in the room that he knows can vouch for you and then he'll work out a handicap for you to start at. i am also not sure the races on monday are the same as friday but i don't see why not. i'm guessing your b speed or better since you're asking about monday's and i can tell you from what i here the field is pretty strong. same with the one pocket tourney on wednesday. in that one it's a race to three and they spot balls, so you may play somone 9-7, so and so on. the fields are usually fairly large and the pay outs are pretty good.

got info on a monthly 9 ball tourney at all star billiards in winder. 189 w. athens st. ste. 8 winder, ga. 30680, 678 975 7504. second sunday of every month. $500 added with full field of 32. starts at 1. race to 7w/5L. alternating break, players auction held on bar boxes. they also have weekly tournaments but i haven't been out there yet to get the skinny. a guy who i shoot with just let me know about this one so i haven't played in it yet and give any more details. i'll try and get more info next time i see him about this tournament and the weekly ones as well.

friday and sat night

Marietta Billiard Club puts on a $5 entry 8 ball tournament I believe the way they have been doing it is that friday night is handicaped and saturday is not .Will double check and post back . Have not updated this list in a while ,if any new ones are out there please post em up.

Lucky Dawg Billiards - Athens, GA

Saturdays, 1:30/2:00 - 9 ball tourney, $15 entry, handicapped double elim

Sundays, same thing but with 8-ball

Havent played in either but probably will this weekend

The Independent in mid town has a tournament Thursday night, entry is FREE, top two get "Bar cash". $25 and $35 ... I think. Format varies, 8 ball, 9 ball scotch doubles (1st weekend of month) and handicaps based on APA handicap. Single elmination. Oh and did I mention entry is free?

Free practice too from 6, tourney starts promptly at 8pm.

Nice place, nice people, good food and fun tournament.

This is what I have so far. Post up more tournaments & any additional information that you know about!!!

just want to correct a few things on the grid. the events at mr. cues aren't played on the 8 ft gold crowns they are played on the 9's and mostly on the 8 tables towards the back of the room which are shimmed. they are mon and friday 9 ball (mon. open, fri. c and d, both are handicapped) and wednesday one pocket handicapped. all three tournaments start around 8 and are around 20 bucks (friday is both of those for sure).. the mazzy's in alpharetta has 8 ftr's not 9 they are a mix of two different styles of olhausen tables. 9 ball is sat. at three and i am pretty sure i paid 15. sunday is an 8 ball tournament but i haven't played in it. the sat. night at cues billiards (formerly side pockets) is 15 bucks handicapped and played on 9ft kim steele tables. also found out classic in conyers is running handicapped 9 ball tournaments on mon. i am not sure about cost and all they have are diamond tables i am guessing the tournament will be on the smart table bar boxes.

Cool. Thanks for the update. I was basically just going from memory and the info already in the thread so I'll be updating this list. Unemployed at the moment so I'll just be sitting around on the computer anyway haha

I was gonna start calling around and trying to fill the holes and hopefully get some other locations, especially here on the NE side. Post up if anyone knows anything and I'll add it to the list
